Admission Process

Himalaya Medical College & Hospital, Paliganj, Patna Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Counseling is conducted by Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB)

The medical aspirants seeking MBBS/BDS admission at BIHAR will have to register themselves for the BCECE (UGMAC ) admission process by filling out their application form. Bihar, MBBS/BDS admission is done on the basis of marks secured in NEET. Candidates who will qualify NEET Exam and meet the eligibility requirements can only register and fill the application form of BCECE (UGMAC ), MBBS / BDS admission.

The NEET UG 2024 counseling process will consist of four rounds: Round-1, Round-2, Round-3, and the Stray Vacancy Round. All these counseling rounds will be conducted online. Notably, for Round-3, there will be an opportunity for fresh online registration and submission of application forms for candidates who did not previously register or submit their forms before the first round of counseling. This provision ensures that eligible candidates who missed the initial registration can still participate in the later stages of the counseling process.

Eligibility For Admission : Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB)
1. Qualification:

  • 12th or (10+2 Equivalent) with Minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English for UR & 40% for SC/ST/OBC.
  • Those who have qualified NEET by scoring the minimum qualifying percentage will be eligible for the Admission and Counseling. Candidates should have earned a minimum of 50 percentile (40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC and 45th percentile for General-PH) in order to become eligible for NEET counseling rounds
  • AGE: A student must have completed an age of 17 years at the time of admission under NEET eligibility or should complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course.

Government Seats (State Quota)

Means and includes seats in Government colleges and Government share of seats in Private colleges.

  • 85% of Seats in Government colleges (after exclusion of 15 % seats transferred to All India Quota)
  • 50% of the available seats for admission by the University for MBBS/ BDS shall be reserved for candidates belonging to: SC – 16%, ST- 1%%, Backward Classes (BC)-12% Reserved Category Girls (RCG)-3%, Extremely Backward Class (EBC)-18%
  • 10% of total seats in specified Government Medical / Dental Colleges reserved for economically weaker section ( EWS ) Category

FEW ALLOTED TO CENTRAL POOL –(These seats were allocated to the beneficiaries of the Central Pool, viz., States/Union Territories, which do not have medical/ dental colleges of their own, Ministry of Defence (for the wards of Defence Personnel), Ministry of Home Affairs (for the children of para-military personnel and Civilian Terrorist Victims), Cabinet Secretariat, Ministry of External Affairs (for meeting diplomatic/ bilateral commitments and for the children of Indian staff serving in Indian Mission abroad), Ministry of Human Resource Development (for Tibetan Refugees) and Indian Council for Child Welfare (for National Bravery Award-winning children)

Eligibility Criteria for the Self-Financed and NRI / NRI Sponsored seats Management Quota : Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB)

  • 15% of NRI quota (NRI/NRI Sponsored) Seats in case of Private Medical College
  • 85% is open to all
  • 50% Seat Katihar Medical College, Katihar , Madhubani Medical College, Madhubani is reserved for Muslim minority
  • 30% Seat in Mata Gujari Memorial Medical College, Kishanganj is reserve for Sikh Minority

1st 50% seat of Private Medical College / Deemed University will be filled on fees at par with the fees fixed for Govt. Medical College. After filling of 50% seat on merit-cum-choice basis. Rest 50% seat will be filled on fees of concerned colleges / Deemed University. All seats will be filled on merit-cum-choice basis.

SFI AND NRI RULE:- In case of non availability of suitable candidates for the vacant seats for NRI and/or Self Financed Quota during 3rd Round Counselling for admission for the different under graduate programme of the University, the vacant seats shall be filled in the following order -

In case of non-availability of suitable candidates against vacant seats of NRI / NRI Sponsored Quota, the vacant seats of NRI / NRI Sponsored quota shall be transferred under the Self-Financed Seats and the counselling for admission will be done in continuation of Reservation roster points by adding the transferred seats.
Further, in case of non-availability of suitable candidates against vacant seats of self- Financed Quota, the vacant seats of Self-Financed quota shall be transferred under the State Quota Seats and the counselling for admission will be done in continuation of Reservation roster points by adding the transferred seats
Even after then the seat remains vacant, Mop-up round will be organized by BCECEB, Patna/BASU, Patna.

Procurement for application form, prospectus and counselling fee & security deposit :

The Prospectus of UGMAC-2024 can be downloaded Online from the BCECE Board’s website: bceceboard.bihar.gov.in by clicking on the link “UGMAC-2024” under Prospectus Section. For filling online Application Form click on “Online Application portal of UGMAC-2024” and then click on “Apply Online” button and follow the instructions as given below;

Step-One - RegistrationFor registering, the candidates are required to fill the information asked in Step-Oneof the application form, appearing on the computer screen. Candidate must enter their NEET-UG 2024 Roll No. and then click on verify button and then enter their Date of Birth with other details as shown on the screen. If data gets verified, proceed for further process. Candidate while registering, must see that he/ she is giving his/her own email ID and Mobile no. because an OTP will be sent to their entered email ID and mobile no. for email ID and mobile no. verification. After successful verification of email ID and mobile no. and successful registration, the registered mobile no. and email ID can not be changed in the whole process of UGMAC-2024 Counselling in any circumstances. After successful Registration, candidate will receive a message of successful registration on their registered mobile no. and email. After that, candidate will have to login to their account by entering their email ID and Password and will process the further activities to duly submit their online application form. The candidate must keep the password entered in Application Form confidential, otherwise BCECE Board will not be responsible for any changes in their data or any other complication etc. The email ID provided by the candidate during registration will be his “user name”.
Step-two - (Personal Information) After successful registration and activating the account, the candidate should again “Sign in” to his account and thereafter complete the required entries regarding personal information on the computer screen. Then click on “Save & Continue” button.
Step-Three - (Upload Photo and Signature) (Upload Photo and Signature) : After entering the personal information, the candidate should upload his / her passport size photograph as uploaded in NEET-UG 2024 online application form and full signature in Hindi and English (Not in capital letter) after duly scanning the same. After uploading photo and signature click on “Save & Continue” button.
Step-Four - (Educational Information): After uploading the scanned photo and signature the candidate should enter his / her educational information on the computer screen and click on “Save & Continue” button.
Step - Five- (Preview your application) After entering educational information the candidate must verify all the information given by him / her while verifying given information in step-2, step-3 and step-4.If any information is found wrong, then the candidate should click “Back to Edit” button and make required corrections. Thereafter the candidate should click “Save & Continue” button so that entered information should be updated. If preview of application form is found to be correct, then the candidate give his / her Declaration and click the “Proceed to Payment” button so that he / she should pay Counselling Fee and Security Deposit as per Step-Six.
Step-Six (Payment of Counselling Fee and Security Deposit): After previewing the Application Form for submitting the same, candidate should click “Proceed to Payment” button and complete the payment procedure for counselling fee and security deposit according to instruction appeared on the computer screen. Counselling fee is not refundable.

Step - Seven (Downloading of Part- A & Part-B):After payment of Counselling/Registration Fee and Security Deposit upto scheduled date and time, the candidate must download Hard Copy (Part-A & and Part-B) of online submitted Application Form and keep the same safely in his possession because it contains all informations provided by the candidate and the UGMAC-ID made available by the Board for further use during counselling

Conditions for MBBS / BDS Counselling : METHOD OF SELECTION AND ADMISSION given below will be subject to updated Rules of NMC / MCC;

Merit List: Merit list of all the qualified candidate as provided by the Deptt. of Health, Govt. of Bihar based on NEET (UG)-2024will be the basis for UGMAC-2024.
There will be four (4) round of Counselling i.e. Round-1, Round-2,Round-3 and Stray Vacancy Round .All round Counselling i.e. Round-1, Round-2,Round-3 and Stray Vacancy round will be Online.
For Round-3, Fresh Online Registration and Submission of Application Form For 3rd Round Online Counselling, Fresh online Registration & submission of Application Form, from those candidate who has not Registered and submitted Application Form of UGMAC-2024 earlier i.e. before 1st round Counselling, will be taken. Details will be made available through concerned advertisement.
Round1 And Round2 Rule
On the basis of merit list of UGMAC-2024 of eligible candidate, the candidate has to fill his choices online for UGMAC-2024 counselling. Please note that choice filling facility will be available as per schedule published in concerned Advertisement. After completion of choice filling process, seat allotment result will be published on Board’s website. In case candidate is allotted seat during 1st round seat allotment then he has to report physically at reporting centre for document verification. After document verification, if he is found eligible he will either take admission or go for free exit. But if he has given willingness for up-gradation during downloading of 1st round provisional seat allotment order then after document verification, he will wait for 2nd round seat allotment and his submitted document will be retained at reporting centre. But if his choice is upgraded in Round-2, then the candidate will have to join the college on allotted seat during second round.
After publication of 1st round seat allotment result, the candidates who are allotted a seat shall download their provisional allotment order by login on counselling portal but before downloading of provisional allotment order, it is necessary for the candidates to give option for upgradation as 'Yes' or 'No'
The candidate who gets allotted a seat during Round-1 counselling and given their upgradation for Round-2 counselling as 'No', then candidate will have to report physically to their reporting centre within scheduled period as printed on the provisional allotment order of Round-1 counselling with all required original documents for Identity and document verification. After document verification, if the candidate is found eligible he will take admission with payment of requisite Fee and their all original documents will be retained at the reporting centre and candidate will be provided a Document Verification Slip of Round- 1 counselling.
In case the seat allotted in Round-1 Counselling is retained in Round-2 Counselling then the candidate will have to report physically to their reporting centre within scheduled period as printed on the provisional allotment order of Round-2Counselling with their Round-1 document verification slip and will have to take admission with payment of requisite Fee.
If the candidate's seat of Round-1 is retained in Round-2 then the candidate has to take admission.
The candidate who got allotted a seat during Round-1 counselling and given their upgradation for Round-2 counselling ‘’Yes’’ or ‘’No’’ but due to any reason did not reported physically to their Reporting Centre within scheduled period as printed on the Provisional Allotment order of Round-1 counselling with all required documents in original for identity and Document Verification, then in such case their Round-1 allotted seat will be cancelled and will not be considered for upgradation in Round-2 counselling (if given their upgradation for Round-2 counselling as ‘’Yes’’) but will be eligible for Fresh Choice Filling of Round-2Counselling. Such candidates will also be treated as Free Exit from Round-1 Counselling
After joining the allotted seat in Round-2, the candidate will not be eligible to participate in any further round of counselling
