Govt. Dental College & Hospital, Patiala was started as a wing of Govt. Medical College Patiala in1956. It established as an independent institution in the year 1989. The Dental wing was started with a strength of 12 admissions which were subsequently raised to 20 and there after to 40 admissions for the BDS course.

The college is also imparts post-graduate courses (M.D.S.) in four specialties. It is one of the premier institutes of the country.

The college is affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot and recognized by Dental Council of India. The institute is providing quality education to its students and has built up the reputation of an institute per excellence.

1 ) MCC (Medical Counselling Committee)(50%) (Open To All)

The MCC/DGHS will be doing Counseling for 15% AIQ, 100% Deemed Universities, Central Universities (Delhi University, AMU & BHU including Institutional/ Domicile Quota), ESIC, AFMC(only Registration Part) &I.P University (VMMC & SJH AND ABVIMS & RML& ESIC Dental, Delhi (15% AIQ + 85% Institutional Quota ) 100% AIIMS, 100% JIPMER and B.Sc. Nursing (only 08 Central Institutes).The role of MCC of DGHS is limited to allotment of seats to the participating candidates, as per their merit and choice, which starts only after receiving the list/data/Information of successful candidates from National Testing Agency i.e. the NEET (UG) examination conducting body

There will be four rounds of AIQ online counseling i.e. AIQ Round 1, AIQ Round 2, AIQ Mop-Up Round and AIQ Stray Vacancy Round (SLA (C) No. 10487 of 2021 in the matter of Nihila P.P. v/s MCC & Ors. Hon’ble Supreme Court of India) which will be conducted in online mode. All candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET UG conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) across the Country. Eligible candidates may download the Rank letter/ Result from NTA website. Cut-off rank of eligible candidates will also be available on the MCC website (www.mcc.nic.in). No seats will be reverted back after the completion of round 2 of AIQ to the States.

Reservation Policy for 15% All India Quota seats: MCC (Medical Counselling Committee)

Reservation Policy of the Central Government for the NEET-UG Counselling in All India Quota is as follows:

S.C.- 15%

S.T.- 7.5%

O.B.C.- (Non-Creamy Layer) as per the Central OBC list- 27%

EWS- as per Central Government norms- 10%

PwD- Horizontal Reservation as per NMC norms- 5%

NOTE:- Reservation of seats under PWD Category is 5% in AIQ & as per NMC norms (Gazette Notification no. MCI-34(41)/2018-Med./170045 dated 04/02/2019). For range of disabilities included, please see Annexure ‘1’.

ROUND 1

Who registered in Round-2 & exited with Forfeiture of fees without joining can register again with payment of fees. However, candidates who have already joined and taken admission upto Round-2 of AIQ/Deemed/ Central Universities/DNB will not be eligible to participate in Mop Up Round and Stray Vacancy Round. (Those who registered but were not allotted a seat in Round-1 & Round-2 need not register again).

(There will be no Fresh Registration of Candidates in Final Stray Vacancy Round.
There will be no choice filling in Stray Vacancy Round. The choices filled during Mop-Up round will be considered for allotment in Stray Vacancy Round.

2)Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot (BFUHS) (State Domicile)

The medical aspirants seeking MBBS/BDS admission at Punjab will have to register themselves through Combined centralized counseling under the aegis of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. by filling out their application form. Punjab, MBBS/BDS admission is done on the basis of marks secured in NEET. Candidates who will qualify NEET Exam and meet the eligibility requirements can only register and fill the application form for Punjab, MBBS / BDS admission. Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot counseling is conducted in Three Round (Round 1(online), Round 2(Physical Counseling), and Mop-up Round(Physical Counseling)). The fourth round being the College Round, if the number of vacant seats is x, then a 10x the list of registered candidates will be sent to the college and is to be exhausted strictly in order of merit.

Eligibility For Admission
1. Qualification:

  • 12th or (10+2 Equivalent) with Minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English for UR & 40% for SC/ST/OBC.
  • Those who have qualified NEET by scoring the minimum qualifying percentage will be eligible for the Admission and Counseling. Candidates should have earned a minimum of 50 percentile (40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC and 45th percentile for General-PH) in order to become eligible for NEET counseling rounds
  • He/she has completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete that age on or before 31 December of the year of his/her admission to the first year Undergraduate Medical Courses.

Government Seats (Competent Authority Quota)

Means and includes seats in Government colleges and Government share of seats in Private colleges.

  • 85% of Seats in Government colleges (after exclusion of 15 % seats transferred to All India Quota)
