Army College of Medical Sciences is a leading medical college in India, under the patronage of Army Welfare Education Society of Indian Army. It is situated near Base Hospital Delhi Cantt, New Delhi. ACMS came into existence in 2008 to address the requirement of providing quality under-graduate medical education to wards of serving and retired Indian Army personnel. The College is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, located in Delhi and recognized by Govt. of India and the National Medical Commission (NMC). It has an annual intake of 100 seats in MBBS. It is an army aided college run by Indian army and is among the top 25 medical colleges in India according to India Today 2020 edition. The foundation stone of the College was laid on 28 Jan 2004 by Raksha Mantri Shri George Fernandes. It was inaugurated by Raksha Mantri Shri AK Antony on 05 Jan 2009. Since inception, ACMS students have been securing top positions in University Examinations, averaging ten Distinctions in every University Examination. They have made their mark in various inter-college academic, sports and cultural competitions. The undergraduate medical education is delivered with the state of the art infrastructure with latest technologies and in sync with the recent developments in medical education. The college has well-defined Pre-clinical, Para-clinical and Clinical departments with best of facilities. There are very good spacious lecture halls, Examination halls, Demonstration rooms, Departmental museums and Skill Laboratories. Being a complete residential Medical College, all students will compulsorily stay in hostels separately meant for boys and girls with all the facilities.
