Located in Hapania, West Tripura, around 7 KM from Agartala, it was developed in what was once a small village. Admission Process

Directorate of Medical Education (DME) Tripura conduct Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in Tripura

Medical aspirants aiming for MBBS/BDS programs in Tripura must register for the first round of admissions through the Directorate of Medical Education (DME) Tripura by completing the application form. Counseling for these admissions is exclusively managed by DME Tripura, based on the scores obtained in the NEET-UG exam. Only candidates who clear the NEET-UG exam and fulfill the eligibility criteria can apply for admission in Tripura for MBBS/BDS courses. The counseling process by DME Tripura is organized in three rounds: Round 1, Round 2, and a Mop-up Round. This online counseling process allocates state quota/domicile seats for MBBS/BDS & BASLP courses in various medical institutions across Tripura and neighboring regions. These institutions include the Regional Institute of Medical Science in Imphal, Agartala Government Medical College, Tripura Medical College in Hapania, Agartala Government Dental College & IGM Hospital, and the Regional Dental College in Guwahati. The counseling also covers MBBS seats for all India candidates (excluding Tripura domicile) at the Tripura Medical College in Hapania.

In case there are still vacant seats after the Mop-Up Round (Round 3), a Stray Vacancy Round of Counselling might be conducted. This round can be organized by the admitting institutions in Tripura or by the Counselling Committee and may take place in an online mode.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR APPEARING IN THE COUNSELING OF TRIPURA STATE QUOTA/DOMICILE SEATS OF MBBS, BDS, BASLP & AYUSH (UG) COURSES FOR THE ACADEMIC SESSSION .

Clause – 1. The applicant must be an Indian Citizen and a Permanent Resident of Tripura. The applicant or his/her parents must have been residing in the State of Tripura continuously for not less than 10 (ten) years immediately prior to the date of making application for appearing at NEET-UG. The applicant should not have applied for domicile (as per NEET Brochure) of any State other than Tripura.
Clause – 2. Children of All India Services Officers borne in Tripura Cadre and the Children of the Employees of the State Government posted outside Tripura will be eligible to appear at the Counseling irrespective of their prior stay in Tripura.
Clause – 3. In case a candidate is not permanent resident of Tripura but his / her parent is either on deputation as Officer/employee to the Govt. of Tripura or an Officer/employee of the Central Govt. working in Tripura and has served in Tripura continuously for a period of 3 (three) years or more prior to appearing in the qualifying examination from any School/Institute of Tripura
Clause – 4. In case of wards of Ex-servicemen, either the candidate or his/her parents must have been staying in Tripura continuously for not less than 5 (five) years immediately prior to the date of making application for appearing at NEET Examination and the candidate must have passed H.S(+2 stage) Examination in the year of NEET Examination from any School/Institute in India affiliated to Board recognized by Govt. of India/Govt. of Tripura with subjects in which he/she desires to appear in the NEET.
Clause – 5. Children of serving Defense Personnel (Army/Navy/Air Force) hailing from Tripura are also allowed to appear for Counseling provided that their children should have stayed in Tripura continuously for not less than 5 (five) years immediately prior to the date of making application for appearing at the NEET Examination and that the candidate must have passed the H.S. (+2 stage) Examination from any Institution of Tripura with the subjects in which he/she desires to appear in the NEET.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATION

12th or (10+2 Equivalent) with Minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English for UR & 40% for SC/ST/OBC.
Those who have qualified NEET-UG by scoring the minimum qualifying percentage will be eligible for Admission and Counseling. Candidates should have earned a minimum of 50 percentile (40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC and 45th percentile for General-PH) in order to become eligible for NEET-UG counseling rounds
AGE: A student must have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission under NEET-UG eligibility or should complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course.

Step of counseling

ROUND 1 (FREE EXIT)

Notification -Tripura State NEET UG Counselling Committee will publish notification for Registration in the Tripura State Counselling (Registration for 1st round of counselling) for (a) State Domicile/State Quota seats and (b) 20 seats of the TMC for other than Tripura domicile candidate.
Registration by the candidates (Counselling link:- https://dmeonline.tripura.gov.in):-Registration portal will be kept open for a scheduled period during which candidates have to register their names for (a) State domicile seats/State Quota Seats or (b) 20 (twenty) seats of TMC for All India candidates other than Tripura domicile.
Publication of Merit list - After registration process gets completed within the schedule date (i) Tripura State Merit List and (ii) The merit list of All India other than Tripura domicile (for 20(twenty) seats in (TMC) will be published. The Merit List of State domicile candidates will be prepared following primary screening of candidates’ documents by the Counselling Committee.
Choice Filling by the candidates (A Candidate can insert multiple choices in ’Choice filling’ as per preferences in order):-The Counselling Committee will notify the dates of “choice filling and locking” for the registered candidates. Then the Counselling Committee will proceed for online allotment of seats only for these registered candidates of Tripura State NEET UG Counselling is eligible to participate in the Counselling

Nomination to be collected from DME office by a candidate allotted a seat : After allotment of seats, Issuance of Nomination will be arranged from DME for the State domicile/State quota seats and for the 20(twenty) seats for All India other than Tripura domicile seats. All admission to concerned Institutions as per allotment & Nomination is subjected to verification of original documents in the Institutions. Any want of original document or any faulty, any tampering, forgery in connection with original documents or any faulty illegible document if found during physical verification or at any point of time will lead to cancellation of Allotment/Nomination or admission in connection with that particular candidate and the said matter may be further processed as per Law (if any).
Physical verification of original documents and other admission formalities and admission in the allotted admitting Institutions : After receiving the Nomination by a candidate himself/herself from the Directorate of Medical Education, the candidate will proceed for admission to the allotted College and have to fulfill the admission criteria of respective College/Institution after the physical verification in the allotted Institution within the schedule time of admission as notified. No admission shall be allowed beyond last date of admission

NOTE:-

  1. A Candidate if allotted a seat in Round 1 will have options to ignore the allotment (not getting admitted) and can go to Second Round (free exit) provided he/she satisfies all prerequisites of Round-2 participation
  2. A Candidate if allotted a seat in Round-1 have options to get admitted to that seat and further participate in Round-2 (up gradation) provided he/she satisfies all prerequisites of Round-2 participation.
  3. A Candidate if admitted to a Round-1 seat can resign from that also afterwards but latest by within 48 hours of Round-2 Result Publication but the Candidate cannot hold (get admitted) 02 (two or more of such MBBS/BDS/BASLP seats at any one point of time simultaneously, be it from Counselling of any State, AIQ or any other Council/ Counselling Authority.
END OF ROUND 1 - When admission & surrender gets completed after first round of Counselling, the Directorate of Medical Education shall notify in due course the vacancy status of seats informs about the vacancy status of seats in respect of course/branch and category for holding the for second Counselling with schedule & inviting fresh registration of round-2 counselling.

ROUND 2 (NO FREE EXIT)

Registration:- Registration Fees for round -2 Counselling is exempted for candidates who have deposited registration Fees and already gets registered in round -1. So, a fresh candidate in round-2 he/she will have to deposit the both; registration Fees and security deposit for participating in round-2

Choice Filling by the candidates :- There will be provision for auto up-gradation for the candidates in the Second Round, the Allotment in Second Round as per candidates choice will automatically cancel his/her earlier seat of allotment/admission in Round-1

A candidate if admitted to a Round 2 allotted seat, his/her counselling ends at that point
A candidate admitted to a Round-1 allotted seat, participates in Round-2 for intention of up gradation of his/her choice of seat or Institution and fails to get an allotment in Round 2 then if he/she at that point of time intend to surrender his/her seat which he/she gets admitted in round – 1 now wants to get a chance in the MOP UP Round (Round-3), then he/she can resign/surrender his/her seat by applying to admitting Institution and he/she have to submit the surrender acceptance from the admitting Institution Authority to DME physically within 2 days of publication of Result of Round 2.
A candidate, allotted seat in round-2 can still participate in MOP UP Round (Round-3) after surrendering the round -2 allotted seat with forfeiture of his/her security deposit. But if he/she gets admitted to a round -2 allotted seat, his/her Counselling for this academic session ends at that point.

MOP UP Round (Round-3) (NO FREE EXIT) (There will be a Mop Up round if there is any seat still remaining vacant after 2nd round of counseling or new seats become available from GOI or any other source.)
