Sri Ramachandra Dental College and Hospital was started in 1995 as a constituent college of Sri Ramachandra Institute of Higher Education and Research. Utilising a floor space of 2,29,000 sq.ft, the college has 330 well equipped dental chairs to fulfill the needs of the Undergraduates and Postgraduates in every branch of dentistry.There are specially designed laboratories and teaching facilities such as lecture halls, auditoria and departmental seminar rooms and departmental libraries which make this a well recognised institution in the country. Advanced diagnostic equipment such as Orthopantomographs, Cephalostats and maxillofacial and dental radiography have been included.

MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) COUNSELING PROCESS:- Sri Ramachandra Dental College and Hospital, Porur

The MCC/DGHS conducts Counseling for allotment of Under Graduate (MBBS/BDS and B.sc. Nursing) seats to the NEET UG/BDS eligible and qualified candidates in participating Government Medical/Dental Colleges of the country under 15% All India Quota and 100% Central & Deemed University quota every year. All the candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET UG/BDS conducted by NBE including candidates from Union Territory of J&K will be eligible. The role of the MCC of DGHS is limited to the allotment of seats to the participating candidates, as per their merit and choice, which starts only after receiving the list/data/Information of successful candidates from the National Board of Examinations (NBE) i.e. the NEET (UG) examination conducting body

Candidates who fall under the category of NRI as per the directions/ orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in the case (W.P. No. 689/2017- Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) & Anr. Vs. Union of India &Ors.) dated 22-08- 2017 are eligible for NRI Category seats. OCI/PIO/Foreign Nationals will be eligible for only NRI seats. The eligible Indian National Candidates wanting to get converted to sponsored NRI category have to submit the documents as and when the same is called for by the MCC.

Step Wise Counseling Process conducted by MCC:Sri Ramachandra Dental College and Hospital, Porur

There are four rounds of counseling i.e. Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up Round & Stray Vacancy Round. Out of the four rounds for Deemed Universities, 03 rounds are conducted online by MCC i.e. Round 1, Round 2, and Mop-Up Round. The Stray Vacancy round is conducted physically by the Deemed Universities for which the list of registered & eligible Candidates is forwarded by MCCto the respective Deemed Universities. The allotment shall only be in terms of merit

First Round:- (AIQ, Deemed University, Centra University/Institutes, DNB)

• NRI application with appropriate documents to be mailed for opening the NRI portal ([email protected])
• Registration fee varies as per the Filling of application form for AIQ, Deemed, CU, DU,Central Institutes, AFMS
• Seat matrix display
• Choice filling
• Seat allotment
• All allotted students must download the allotment letter
• Options for an allotted candidate

1. “Satisfied with the allotted seat and candidate is willing to report to the allotted college, not interested in further allotment of seats in any subsequent round for any discipline”.
2. The candidate is satisfied with the allotted seat but wishes to participate in the next round. Such candidates should pay the prescribed fees
3. The candidate is not satisfied with the present allotment and wishes to participate in the next round of counseling. The previously allotted seat is forfeited and offered to the next eligible candidate
4. Not satisfied with MCCallotted seat and candidate has got seat elsewhere, so the candidate is quitting and not to be considered for allotment of seats in any of the further rounds

2nd Round:- (AIQ, Deemed University, Central University/Institutes, DNB)

Fresh Registration for Mop-up Round (not required for earlier resigned candidates)

• Reporting at the Medical Institutions/university against 2nd Round (candidates who joined the allotted seat against 2nd Round are not allowed to vacate the seat)

Mop-Up Round (Final Round):- (AIQ, Deemed University, Central University/Institutes, DNB)
Fresh Registration for Mop-up Round (not required for earlier resigned candidates)

• All Non Reported Seat Will Be Displayed And Transferred To Concerned Deemed University

Stray vacancies:- (AIQ, Central University/Institutes, DNB)

• There will be no Fresh Registration of Candidates in the Final Stray Vacancy Round.
• There will be no choice filling in Stray Vacancy Round. The choices filled during the Mop-Up round will be considered for allotment in Stray Vacancy Round.
• Allotment of seats ‘Online’ by running software
• Eligible candidates who are not holding any seat can participate in Stray Vacancy Round

Stray vacancies:- (DEEMED)

• Final Stray Vacancy Round to be conducted by Deemed/ Central Universities (There will be no Fresh Registration of Candidates in Final Stray Vacancy Round)
• List of ten times (of the registered candidates) of the number of Stray vacancies to be sent to Deemed / Central Universities to be exhausted strictly in order of merit.
• For Deemed Universities the Stray Vacancy Round will be conducted by the respective Deemed University
• Eligible candidates who are not holding any seat can participate in Stray Vacancy Round
