    The Sree Balaji Medical College and Hospital, Chennai is a established in the Year 2003. The campus houses a medical college with 250 MBBS annual admissions and  Post Graduate Courses in 19 departments in  Super-specialties Courses in 1 department. The college is recognized by Govt. of India and the National Medical Commission (NMC)  and is affiliated with  Bharath Institute of Higher Education & Research (Deemed Univ.).The College and Hospital complex has been raised in an area of 30.89 acres, ideally located with salubrious surroundings. Seven Air-Conditioned Gallery type lecture halls with AV Facilities SBMC&H Central Library centrally air-conditioned, well-lit, aesthetically designed library proofed with fire alarms. There are separate hostels for men and women The hostels are provided with cable TVs, telephone and Internet facilities. A professional team of security guards ensures safety. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled

The campus has 400m track and field activities for students. Football ground has international standards, tennis courts, basketball courts, badminton courts, cricket nets for practice, hockey ground are all of the International standards. The gym has a qualified instructor who helps the students. Indoor facilities such as boys gym and girls gym, table tennis boards, chessboard, carom boards, etc.

SBMCH has ISO licensed blood bank with the facility of blood components. It is situated on the first floor of the hospital and just opposite to the laboratory services departments.     Sree Balaji Medical College and Hospital, Chennai NEET UG Counseling is conducted by  MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) 

    MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) COUNSELING PROCESS:- Sree Balaji Medical College and Hospital, Chennai

    The MCC/DGHS conducts Counseling for allotment of Under Graduate (MBBS/BDS and B.sc. Nursing) seats to the NEET UG/BDS eligible and qualified candidates in participating Government Medical/Dental Colleges of the country under 15% All India Quota and 100% Central & Deemed University quota every year. All the candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET UG/BDS conducted by NBE including candidates from Union Territory of J&K will be eligible. The role of the MCC of DGHS is limited to the allotment of seats to the participating candidates, as per their merit and choice, which starts only after receiving the list/data/Information of successful candidates from the National Board of Examinations (NBE) i.e. the NEET (UG) examination conducting body 

    Candidates who fall under the category of NRI as per the directions/ orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in the case (W.P. No. 689/2017- Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) & Anr. Vs. Union of India &Ors.) dated 22-08- 2017 are eligible for NRI Category seats. OCI/PIO/Foreign Nationals will be eligible for only NRI seats. The eligible Indian National Candidates wanting to get converted to sponsored NRI category have to submit the documents as and when the same is called for by the MCC.

    Step Wise Counseling Process conducted by MCC:  Sree Balaji Medical College and Hospital, Chennai

                   There are four rounds of counseling i.e. Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up Round & Stray Vacancy Round. Out of the four rounds for Deemed Universities, 03 rounds are conducted online by MCC i.e. Round 1, Round 2, and Mop-Up Round. The Stray Vacancy round is conducted physically by the Deemed Universities for which the list of registered & eligible Candidates is forwarded by MCC to the respective Deemed Universities. The allotment shall only be in terms of merit

    1. “Satisfied with the allotted seat and candidate is willing to report to the allotted college, not interested in further allotment of seats in any subsequent round for any discipline”.
    2. The candidate is satisfied with the allotted seat but wishes to participate in the next round. Such candidates should pay the prescribed fees
    3. The candidate is not satisfied with the present allotment and wishes to participate in the next round of counseling. The previously allotted seat is forfeited and offered to the next eligible candidate
    4. Not satisfied with MCC allotted seat and candidate has got seat elsewhere, so the candidate is quitting and not to be considered for allotment of seats in any of the further rounds

    2nd Round:- (AIQ, Deemed University, Central University/Institutes, DNB)

    Fresh Registration for Mop-up Round (not required for earlier resigned candidates)

    • Notification for counseling process
    • NRI application with appropriate documents to be mailed for opening the NRI portal ([email protected])
    • Registration fee varies as per the Filling of application form for AIQ, Deemed, CU, DU, Central Institutes, AFMS

    • There will be no choice filling in Stray Vacancy Round. The choices filled during the Mop-Up round will be considered for allotment in Stray Vacancy Round.
    • Allotment of seats ‘Online’ by running software
    • Eligible candidates who are not holding any seat can participate in Stray Vacancy Round

    Stray vacancies:- (DEEMED)

    • Final Stray Vacancy Round to be conducted by Deemed/ Central Universities (There will be no Fresh Registration of Candidates in Final Stray Vacancy Round)
    • List of ten times (of the registered candidates) of the number of Stray vacancies to be sent to Deemed / Central Universities to be exhausted strictly in order of merit.
    • For Deemed Universities the Stray Vacancy Round will be conducted by the respective Deemed University
    • Eligible candidates who are not holding any seat can participate in Stray Vacancy Round
