The Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), is located in the vibrant city of Jalandhar and was established in Year 2011. The college is recognized by Govt. of India and the National Medical Commission (NMC) and affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot with an annual intake of 150 MBBS seats. PIMS was conceptualized under Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode by PIMS Society, PIMS Medical and Education Charitable Society, Department of Medical Education & Research and GoP to be a tertiary care teaching hospital.

The medical college and medical research institute is spread in an area spread of more than 55 acres of serene surroundings. Punjab Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Counseling is conducted by Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot

The medical aspirants seeking MBBS/BDS admission at Punjab will have to register themselves through Combined centralized counseling under the aegis of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. by filling out their application form. Punjab, MBBS/BDS admission is done on the basis of marks secured in NEET. Candidates who will qualify NEET Exam and meet the eligibility requirements can only register and fill the application form for Punjab, MBBS / BDS admission. Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot counseling is conducted in Three Round (Round 1(online), Round 2(Physical Counseling), and Mop-up Round(Physical Counseling)). The fourth round being the College Round, if the number of vacant seats is x, then a 10x the list of registered candidates will be sent to the college and is to be exhausted strictly in order of merit.

Eligibility For Admission
1. Qualification:

• 12th or (10+2 Equivalent) with Minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English for UR & 40% for SC/ST/OBC.
• Those who have qualified NEET by scoring the minimum qualifying percentage will be eligible for the Admission and Counseling. Candidates should have earned a minimum of 50 percentile (40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC and 45th percentile for General-PH) in order to become eligible for NEET counseling rounds
• He/she has completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete that age on or before 31 December of the year of his/her admission to the first year Undergraduate Medical Courses.

Government Seats (Competent Authority Quota)

Means and includes seats in Government colleges and Government share of seats in Private colleges.

• 85% of Seats in Government colleges (after exclusion of 15 % seats transferred to All India Quota)
• Reservation in Government Medical/ Dental Institutes shall be as under:

Management Quota

The distribution of seats in Private Medical/ Dental Institutions shall be:

• Government quota seats 50%
• Management/Minority quota seats- 50% (including 15% NRI quota)

Non-Resident Indian (NRI) Seats

15% seats in all Private Institutes/Guru Gobind Singh Medical College Faridkot and 13 seats each in Govt. Medical College. Patiala and Amritsar and 3 seats in Govt. Dental College, Amritsar, and 4 seats in Govt. Dental College, Patiala shall be earmarked for the Non-Resident Indians in the following order:

Category I: NRI/Children of NRI who originally belong to the State of Punjab.

Category II- NRI/Children of NRI who originally belong to an Indian State other than Punjab
