The Maharishi Markandeshwar Medical College & Hospital, Solan, is run by Maharishi Markandeshwar University Trust and was established in the Year 2013. The college is recognized by the Govt. of India and the National Medical Commission (NMC) and is affiliated to Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be University), Himachal Pradesh at Kumarhatti-Solan. The Medical College has an annual intake of 150 MBBS seats and 92 seats in 20 disciplines of Post-Graduate studies. The college is excellently connected with Air, Rail, and Road route and it is very easy to reach from any part of the city hotspots.
The Medical College and Hospital is located in a sprawling area of over 23.08 acres with state of the art infrastructure. The college built-up area is 21747 Sq.mt, Hospital (including OPD): 53051 Sq.mt. and Hostel & Residential complex 34374 Sqmt. There are 4 lecture theatres of capacity 180 each and 1 lecture theatre of capacity 350 are available equipped with AC, Central heating system, Audiovisual facility, LCD projector, wi-fi, OHP, CCTV Cameras, Computer Network with LAN. The library is a hybrid library with state-of-the-art technological applications. The library building, centrally located, has a sprawling space of 2,406 sqm, having designated areas for different sections of the library, which stimulate a nice ambiance for reading. It acquires huge volumes of Medical books of over 11685 and 60 National journals and 48 International journals. The collection includes Textbooks, Atlases, Dictionaries, Directories, Encyclopaedias, Technical Reports and has an excellent facility of E- Library with separate Departmental libraries as well. Examination halls, centrally heated with a 250 capacity each. Separate Common room, for boys and girls with a capacity of 150 each and attached toilets. There are separate hostels for boys and girls MBBS Students, Interns, and Resident doctors. Facilities for indoor and outdoor games like Table tennis, Badminton, Basket Ball, Volleyball, Well equipped Gymnasium.

The medical aspirants seeking MBBS/BDS admission to Himachal Pradesh will have to register themselves for the Centralized Counselling process of Atal Medical & Research University, Himachal Pradesh, Shimla admission process by filling out their application form. Himachal Pradesh MBBS/BDS admission is done on the basis of marks secured in NEET-UG. Candidates who will qualify NEET Exam and meet the eligibility requirements can only register and fill the application form for Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), MBBS / BDS admission.
