Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences (HIMS) is the first medical college in the state of Uttarakhand and came into existence in December 1995. The college is recognized by Govt. of India and the National Medical Commission (NMC) and is affiliated with Swami Rama Himalayan University, Dehradun. It has an intake capacity of 150 MBBS and 117 seats in 22 specialties of Postgraduate courses and 6 seats in 3 streams of Super-Speciality Course.

Himalayan Hospital (HH) a 1000+ bedded tertiary care hospital provide emergency, outpatient, inpatient, day-care, community outreach, with over approximately 500+ dedicated competent and service-oriented staff. Clinical board’s general specialities viz. A comprehensive 250-bedded Cancer Treatment Centre equipped with Modern Radiotherapy, Chemotherapy, Surgical and Nuclear Medicine.
The state’s first successful Kidney Transplantation Centre also provides facilities for Dialysis, plasmapheresis and vascular access-related procedures for a kidney.
The diagnostic facilities include 1.5 teslas MRI, 64 slices CT Scan, Ultra Sound, Colour Doppler, Mammography and Digital X-Ray. The medical aspirants seeking MBBS/BDS admission at Uttarakhand will have to register themselves through Hemwati Nandan Bahuguna Medical University by filling out their application form. Uttarakhand, MBBS/BDS admission is done on the basis of marks secured in NEET.
