TheDM Wayanad Institute of Medical Sciences, (DM WIMS ) Wayanad,is a established in the Year2013. The college is recognized by Govt. of India and the National Medical Commission (NMC) and is affiliated with the Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur. The college offers 150 seats in MBBS. DM WIMS Campus at Wayanad is a verdant, lush-green paradise, still and pollution–free, the only sounds that echo through the campus are the calls of birds. The 50 acre campus surrounded by coffee and tea plantations gives a smoothening feeling to the inmates. The campus is a unique blend of nature and contemporary facilities. Four well equipped, e-learning enabled gallery type lecture halls of 180 capacity are available. They are located in the 1st and 5th Floors of the Academic Block. Each Lecture Theatre is provided with independent audio-visual aids, including overhead projector, slide projector, LCD projector and a microphone. In the Fifth Floor two examination halls of 250 capacity each with an area of 1200 Sq.Central Library and 21 departmental libraries that collectively fulfill the needs of the teaching, learning and research programmes of the Institute. The Air-conditioned Library is located on the Fourth Floor (Level -5) of the academic building, and consists of two floors with a carpet area of 2515 msquare. The Library has two Reading Halls for the students, separate reading rooms for Teaching Staff and Senior Residents, with a combined seating capacity of 450. College has a tradition of providing an all-round development for students, by making available facilities for sports (Foot Ball, Table Tennis, Cricket, Badminton ) and for cultural activities . Separate hostels for boys and girls available At present there is one Men’s Hostel, two Ladies Hostels.

The hospital functions as per UNIT systems. At present, there are 4 units each in Medicine and Surgery and 2 units each in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pediatrics, and Orthopedics. Other clinical departments ENT, Ophthalmology, Respiratory Medicine, Dermatology and Dental function as 1 unit. There are 410 general beds, 57 ICU beds and 43 private beds available. Department of Laboratory It is a well-equipped, fully automated & interfaced lab. DM Wayanad Institute of Medical SciencesBachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Counseling is conducted by Commissioner for Entrance Examinations KEAM

The medical aspirants seeking MBBS/BDS admission at Kerala will have to register themselves for the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations KEAM in the admission section for the admission process by filling out their application form. Kerala, MBBS/BDS admission is done on the basis of marks secured in NEET. Candidates who will qualify NEET Examand meet the eligibility requirements can only register and fill the application form for KEAM MBBS / BDS admission. KEAM counseling is conducted in Three Round (Round 1, Round 2, and Subsequent MOP UP rounds). Seat selection for Government Seats and for Management quota seats will be through web counseling

Eligibility For Admission into Commissioner for Entrance Examinations KEAM
1. Qualification:

  • 12th or (10+2 Equivalent) with Minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English for UR & 40% for SC/ST/OBC.
  • Those who have qualified NEET by scoring the minimum qualifying percentage will be eligible for the Admission and Counseling. Candidates should have earned a minimum of 50 percentile (40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC and 45th percentile for General-PH) in order to become eligible for NEET counseling rounds
  • AGE: A student must have completed an age of 17 years at the time of admission under NEET eligibility or should complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course.

Government Seats (State Quota) Commissioner for Entrance Examinations KEAM

Means and includes seats in Government colleges and Government share of seats in Private colleges.

  • Government seats are available in all the Govt. and Aided Colleges.
  • The availability of Government seats in Self-financing Colleges run by institutions under Govt. control and Private Self-financing colleges will be notified separately. Those candidates who seek admission in Private Self-financing colleges are bound to accept the conditions stipulated in the agreement between Government and Self-financing College Management(s) and deemed to have accepted such conditions.
  • Management Seats: The seats set apart in the Aided institutions, to be filled up by the Managements concerned are called Management Seats.
  • Categorization of Seats in Self-Financing Institutions: The categorization of seats in Self-financing Colleges run by institutions under Govt. control and other Private Self-financing colleges will be notified separately. “As per the orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India dated: 09.05.2017 on WP(C) No. 267/2017, the allotments/admissions to the State Quota seats in all the Government as well as Private Self Financing Medical and Dental colleges shall be done through a Common Counseling to be conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations. The Common Counseling will include NRI seats in Self Financing Medical & Dental Colleges and Minority Community Quota seats in Private Self Financing Medical & Dental Colleges having Minority Status.”

Reservation for All India Quota for MBBS/BDS Courses in Govt. Medical/Dental Colleges: Fifteen percent of the total sanctioned seats in MBBS/BDS Courses in Govt. Medical/Dental Colleges in the State are set apart for the allotment of the candidates by the Director-General of Health Services, Government of India on the basis of the rank obtained in the NEET-UG conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), New Delhi.

Reservation for All India Quota for MBBS Courses in Self-Financing Medical colleges:- Fifteen percent of the seats for the admission of students to MBBS Courses in Self-Financing Medical Colleges in Kerala are set apart for the allotment of candidates irrespective of their Domicile as per the rank obtained in the NEET-UG conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) New Delhi.

Mandatory Reservation The Government seats for each course in Govt./Aided/KAU/KVASU/KUFOS Colleges will be distributed as per the mandatory reservation principle as contemplated in G.O. (P) 208/66/Edn. Dated 2.5.1966, G.O.(Ms)No.95/08/SCSTDD Dated 06.10.2008, GO(Ms) No. 10/2014/BCDD Dated 23.05.2014 and as modified from time to time. The percentage break-up of seats as per mandatory reservation is as follows:
