 The Deccan College of Medical Sciences (DCMS), Hyderabad a Trust established in Year 1985. It’s among the best 5 medical institutes in Telangana. The college is recognized by Govt. of India and the National Medical Commission (NMC)   is affiliated with Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences, Warangal. The Medical College has an annual intake of 150 MBBS seats, 67 seats in 20 Departments Post-Graduate studies, and 4 seats among the 4 Super-Speciality studies. The college is excellently connected with Air, Rail, and Road route and it is very easy to reach from any part of the city hotspots. Deccan College of Medical Sciences is a Muslim Minority Co-Education College helping all the students of the Minority community from Telangana and other states across India to get admission into Medicine. The institute provides spacious classrooms, fully equipped ultra-modern labs.  The library is housed in two big halls, on the Right Wing of the III floor of the Owaisi Hospital & Research Centre's building. The library is well equipped with adequate Books, Journals, audio & visual aids and an online facility is also provided for the Undergraduate students, PG Students, and Faculty. The college regular practice facilities for students, Table Tennis, Caroms, Chess, Badminton, Basket Ball, Volley Ball, Foot Ball, and Track and field events. Separate practice facilities for girls in Table Tennis, Caroms, and chess.

Fakhr-E-Millat Hostel with two blocks (97 rooms in each block - for boys & girls separately) with facilities on International standards is also available in the DCMS campus. Two separate visiting lounges are provided to respectively Boys & Girls Hostels. It has Standby Generator, 24 Hours cover for Boys and Girls Hostels.

OWAISI HOSPITAL AND RESEARCH CENTRE

HEALTH CENTRES

Six Primary Health Centres are run by Deccan College of Medical Sciences in Hyderabad with the twin purpose of providing medicare to urban poor and needy patients and imparting training to students as part of the MBBS curriculum. These PHCs are located at Hassan Nagar, Bhavani Nagar, Ghulam Murtuza Chawni, Hafez Baba Nagar, Musheerabad, and Syed Nagar in different parts of the twin cities of Hyderabad-Secunderabad.

  • Admission Process

    Deccan College of Medical Sciences Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Counseling is conducted by KNR University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS) 

    The medical aspirants seeking MBBS/BDS admission at KNR University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS)  will have to register themselves for the KNRUHS admission process by filling out their application form. Telangana MBBS/BDS admission is done on the basis of marks secured in NEET-UG. Candidates who qualify NEET-UG Exam and meet the eligibility requirements can only register and fill the application form for Telangana MBBS / BDS admission. KNRUHS counseling is conducted in Three Rounds (Round 1, Round 2, and Mop-Up Round) & the Fourth round being the College Round. Suppose the number of vacant seats is x, then 10x of list of registered candidates will be sent to the college and is to be exhausted strictly in order of merit. Seat selection for Government Seats (Competent Authority Quota) will be exclusively through web counseling and for Management Quota seats will be through online counseling.

     Eligibility For Admission
    Qualification:

    • Educational Qualifications: The Candidates should pass two years Intermediate examination (10+2 pattern) or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry/ Botany, Zoology and English individually, and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology at the qualifying examination. In respect of candidates, belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes, the marks obtained shall be a minimum of 40% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology.
    • Those who have qualified NEET-UG by scoring the minimum qualifying percentage will be eligible for the Admission and Counseling. Candidates should have earned a minimum of 50 percentile (40th  percentile for SC/ST/OBC and 45th percentile for General-PH) in order to become eligible for NEET-UG counseling rounds
    • AGE: A student must have completed 17 years at the time of admission under NEET eligibility or should complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course.

    Government Seats (Competent Authority Quota)

    Competent Authority Quota (CQ) includes seats in Government colleges and Government shares of seats in Private colleges.

    • 85% of Seats in Government colleges (after exclusion of 15 % seats transferred to All India Quota)
    • 50% of Seats in case of Private Un-aided Non-Minority and 60% of Minority Medical college and 50% in case of private Non-Minority Dental College
    • Nonlocal candidates are eligible for 15% unreserved seats only. The local candidates are also eligible for 15% unreserved seats along with 85% seats reserved for the local area.
    • 29% of the available seats for admission by the University for MBBS/ BDS shall be reserved for candidates belonging to Backward Classes as follows: · BC-A -7%, BC-B-10%, BC-C-1%, BC-D-7% & BC-E*-4%
    • 10% of total seats in specified Government Medical / Dental Colleges reserved for economically weaker section ( EWS ) Category
    • 33 1/3% of seats are guaranteed for women and candidates in each category
    • 15% seats shall be reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, 6% of seats shall be reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes in each local area.

    • Competent Authority Quota seats in Minority Medical Colleges will be allotted to Muslim Minority Candidates only. Muslim Minority Candidates are also eligible for Competent Authority Quota seats in other Medical Colleges.
    • 3% seats shall be reserved for differently-abled candidates in each Category
    • In respect of Statewide Institutions, admission into 85% of seats in each course Shall bé reserved for the candidates belonging to three local areas in the State specified in this sub-rule namely, Andhra University Area (Andhra), Osmania University Area (Telangana), and Sri Venkateswara University .area (Rayalaseema) In the ratio of 42:36:22 respectively and v the balance of 15% seats shall" be unreserved seats:

    (A) '' The Local Areas '' means 

    (a) The part of the State comprising the Districts of Adilabad, Hyderabad (Including Twin Cities) Rangareddy, Karimnagar, ’Khammam, Medak, Mahaboobnagar, Nalgonda, Nizamabad, and Warangal shall be regarded as the Osmania University Local. Area (Telangana)

     (b) The part of the state comprising the District of Srikakulam Vizianagaram, Vishakapatnam, East \ Godavari, Wes Godavari, Krishna, Guntur, and Prakasham shall be regarded as the Andhra University Local area (Andhra) 

    (c) The part of the State comprising the Districts of Ananthapur, Kurnool, Chittoor, Çuddapph, and Nellore shall be regarded as the Sri Venkateswara University Local Area (Rayalaseéma)

    (B) The Local Candidate: A candidate for admission shall be regarded as a local candidate in relation to a local area. 

    a) If he has studied in educational institutions in such a local area for a period of not less 4 than four consecutive academic years ending with the. The academic year in which he appeared or as the case may be first appeared in the relevant qualifying examination. 

    b) Where during the whole or any part of the four consecutive academic years ending with the academic year in which he appeared or as the case may first appear for the relevant qualifying examination, he has not studied in any educational institutions, If he has resided in that local area for a period of not less than four years immediately preceding the date of commencement of the relevant qualifying examination which he appeared or as the case may first appear.

    Management Quota (MQ): Deccan College of Medical Sciences 

    50% of Seats in case of Private Un-aided Non-Minority and  40% Minority Medical College

    The Management Quota Seats are categorized into Management Quota

    (a) Sub - Category - B. 35%, Management Quota 25% Minority Medical College

     (b) Sub - Category - C. 15% NRI quota (NRI/NRI Sponsored) 

    Candidates from all the States and Union territories of India are eligible.

    * In Un-aided Muslim Minority Medical Colleges, seats are reserved for Muslim Minority Candidates only. In case Muslim Minority Candidates are not available, then the seats may be filled up with Non-minority students up to a maximum of 30% during the final phase of counseling.

    *Foreign Students / NRI candidates are eligible for admission into MBBS and BDS Courses under Management Quota Category – C Seats. Candidates should specifically put the option for NRI Category in the online application to be considered for NRI / C-Category

The candidates can exercise web options for MBBS and BDS seats in all Medical/Dental Colleges under KNRUHS including Army Dental College through https://tsmedadm.tsche.in/ 

    Web Allotment for Phase 1 The selected candidates shall download the allotment letter from the website after payment of the University fee by gateway method by using the Online payment method. ( Debit Card/Credit Card/Internet Banking).

    *The University fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstances

    Reporting at the Allotted College -Candidate has to take a printout of allotment order, check their allotment, and report to the Principal of respective college before the last date specified on the allotment letter. 

    * verification of original certificates will be conducted at the college of admission and in case of any discrepancy, the provisional allotment will be canceled and action may be initiated as per University regulations.
