The Christian Medical College and Hospital is a private, Christian minority-run teaching hospital in Ludhiana, India. Founded in 1894, it was then the first medical school for women in Asia. It was officially recognized in the year 1953 and is recognized by Govt. of India and the National Medical Commission (NMC) and affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. The college offers 75 seats in MBBS, 79 seats in 18 disciplines of Postgraduate Courses and 10 seats in 7 disciplines of Super-Specialization studies. The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranked CMC Ludhiana 18 among medical colleges in India in 2020. CMC Ludhiana is ranked 28th by India Today in 2020 and 13th by Outlook India among the medical colleges of India in 2019. 

The Medical College and Hospital is located in a sprawling campus of over 44 acres with an excellent infrastructure. The institution is situated a couple of kilometers from Ludhiana railway station, on both sides of the Brown Road named after Dame Edith M Brown. The campus has advanced facilities, international standards of infrastructure, Multi-discipline faculty, and a demographically varied student body, which transcends the boundaries of traditional education, providing a vibrant environment to promote fresh thinking and exchange of ideas. Christian Medical College and Hospital, Ludhiana is a 750 + bedded hospital Multi-speciality Hospital with 24×7 services. Clinical board’s general specialties viz. Medicine, Surgery, OBG, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Pulmonology, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Anaesthesiology and Radiology, and three paraclinical departments viz. Pathology, Microbiology, and Biochemistry are working in the Hospital. In addition to the basic clinical specialties, NICU, PICU, OICU, Paediatric Nephrology including dialysis, Arthroscopy, and GI Endoscopy are some of the specialized tertiary level services rendered in the hospital. In-Patient facility including I.C.U, I.C.C.U, N.I.C.U, P.I.C.U, Labor Room, Post Operative Care, and all types of surgeries which include caesarian are provided. Admission Process

Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in Punjab

The medical aspirants seeking MBBS/BDS admission at Punjab will have to register themselves through Combined centralized counseling under the aegis of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. by filling out their application form. Punjab, MBBS/BDS admission is done on the basis of marks secured in NEET. Candidates who will qualify NEET Exam and meet the eligibility requirements can only register and fill the application form for Punjab, MBBS / BDS  admission. Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot counseling is conducted in Three Round (Round 1(online), Round 2(Physical Counseling), and Mop-up Round(Physical Counseling)). The fourth round being the College Round, if the number of vacant seats is x, then a 10x the list of registered candidates will be sent to the college and is to be exhausted strictly in order of merit.

Eligibility For Admission
1. Qualification:

  • 12th or (10+2 Equivalent) with Minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English for UR &  40% for SC/ST/OBC.
  • Those who have qualified NEET by scoring the minimum qualifying percentage will be eligible for the Admission and Counseling. Candidates should have earned a minimum of 50 percentile (40th  percentile for SC/ST/OBC and 45th percentile for General-PH) in order to become eligible for NEET  counseling rounds
  • He/she has completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete that age on or before 31 December of the year of his/her admission to the first year Undergraduate Medical Courses.

Government Seats (Competent Authority Quota)

Means and includes seats in Government colleges and Government share of seats in Private colleges.

  • 85% of Seats in Government colleges (after exclusion of 15 % seats transferred to All India Quota)

Dental College, Amritsar, and 4 seats in Govt. Dental College, Patiala shall be earmarked for the Non-Resident Indians in the following order:
