KLE Vishwanath Katti Institute of Dental Sciences, runs under the KLE Society which was established in the year 1916 and owns more than  205 institutions currently. The dental college was established in the year 1985 within the KLE campus. The College is affiliated to the KLE Deemed University, Belagavi, Karnataka and recognized by  Dental Council of India  with the annual intake of 100 seats in BDS and 48 seats in various streams of Postgraduate Dental Sciences.

The Dental college is located in a sprawling 113 acres campus of the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College with a dedicated constructed area of 68902.19 sq.ft and a non-constructed area of 248026.45 sqft with state of the art infrastructure which has set high standards in terms of Dental Education and creates an environment for excellent student oriented, patient friendly environment with dedicated faculty in place. Currently the college is equipped with 341 latest electronic Dental chairs and has set up a well maintained laboratory with all the latest equipment as well. There are technology driven air conditioned lecture halls with adequate seating, large greenboard and full audio-visual and multimedia projection capabilities. There is a spacious examination hall with a seating capacity of 250 students at a time and seminar halls. There is an centrally air conditioned Auditorium and seminar halls. The Library is spread in a huge area with good collection of books and National and International Journals with back volumes. There is an excellent E-Library facility as well to benefit the students. State of art preclinical labs equipped with patient simulations and Wi Fi enabled campus. There is a Dental education museum within the campus. The campus houses well ventilated spacious hostels for girls and boys separately with staff quarters. The playground in the sprawling campus is ideal for basketball, football, cricket and volleyball. It has a dedicated jogging and cycling track too. It is attached with the KLES Dr. Prabhakar Kore Hospital and Medical Research Centre for clinical practice.

MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) COUNSELING PROCESS:- KLE Vishwanath Katti Institute of Dental Sciences

The MCC/DGHS conducts Counseling for allotment of Under Graduate (MBBS/BDS and B.sc. Nursing) seats to the NEET UG/BDS eligible and qualified candidates in participating Government Medical/Dental Colleges of the country under 15% All India Quota and 100% Central & Deemed University quota every year. All the candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET UG/BDS conducted by NBE including candidates from Union Territory of J&K will be eligible. The role of the MCC of DGHS is limited to the allotment of seats to the participating candidates, as per their merit and choice, which starts only after receiving the list/data/Information of successful candidates from the National Board of Examinations (NBE) i.e. the NEET (UG) examination conducting body

Candidates who fall under the category of NRI as per the directions/ orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in the case (W.P. No. 689/2017- Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) & Anr. Vs. Union of India &Ors.) dated 22-08- 2017 are eligible for NRI Category seats. OCI/PIO/Foreign Nationals will be eligible for only NRI seats. The eligible Indian National Candidates wanting to get converted to sponsored NRI category have to submit the documents as and when the same is called for by the MCC.

Step Wise Counseling Process conducted by MCC: KLE Vishwanath Katti Institute of Dental Sciences

There are four rounds of counseling i.e. Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up Round & Stray Vacancy Round. Out of the four rounds for Deemed Universities, 03 rounds are conducted online by MCC i.e. Round 1, Round 2, and Mop-Up Round. The Stray Vacancy round is conducted physically by the Deemed Universities for which the list of registered & eligible Candidates is forwarded by MCC to the respective Deemed Universities. The allotment shall only be in terms of merit

First Round:- (AIQ, Deemed University, Centra University/Institutes, DNB)

• Notification for counseling process
• NRI application with appropriate documents to be mailed for opening the NRI portal ([email protected])
• Registration fee varies as per the Filling of application form for AIQ, Deemed, CU, DU,Central Institutes, AFMS
• Seat matrix display
• Choice filling
• Seat allotment
• All allotted students must download the allotment letter
• Options for an allotted candidate

1. “Satisfied with the allotted seat and candidate is willing to report to the allotted college, not interested in further allotment of seats in any subsequent round for any discipline”.
2. The candidate is satisfied with the allotted seat but wishes to participate in the next round. Such candidates should pay the prescribed fees
3. The candidate is not satisfied with the present allotment and wishes to participate in the next round of counseling. The previously allotted seat is forfeited and offered to the next eligible candidate
4. Not satisfied with MCC allotted seat and candidate has got seat elsewhere, so the candidate is quitting and not to be considered for allotment of seats in any of the further rounds

2nd Round:- (AIQ, Deemed University, Central University/Institutes, DNB)

Fresh Registration for Mop-up Round (not required for earlier resigned candidates)

• Notification for counseling process
• NRI application with appropriate documents to be mailed for opening the NRI portal ([email protected])
• Registration fee varies as per the Filling of application form for AIQ, Deemed, CU, DU,Central Institutes, AFMS
• Seat matrix display
• Choice filling
• Seat allotment
• All allotted students must download the allotment letter
• If Allotted (No Free Exit)(Exit With Forfeiture of Fees )(No Upgradation For Next Round)
• Reporting at the Medical Institutions/university against 2nd Round (candidates who joined the allotted seat against 2nd Round are not allowed to vacate the seat)

Mop-Up Round (Final Round):- (AIQ, Deemed University, Central University/Institutes, DNB)
Fresh Registration for Mop-up Round (not required for earlier resigned candidates)

• Notification for counseling process
• NRI application with appropriate documents to be mailed for opening the NRI portal ([email protected])
• Registration fee varies as per the Filling of application forms for Deemed, CU, DU,Central Institutes, AFMS
• Seat matrix
• Choice filling
• Seat allotment
• All allotted students must download the allotment letter
• If Allotted (No Free Exit)(Exit With Forfeiture Of Fees )
• Reporting To The College
• All Non Reported Seat Will Be Displayed And Transferred To Concerned Deemed University

Stray vacancies:- (AIQ, Central University/Institutes, DNB)

• There will be no Fresh Registration of Candidates in the Final Stray Vacancy Round.
• There will be no choice filling in Stray Vacancy Round. The choices filled during the Mop-Up round will be considered for allotment in Stray Vacancy Round.
• Allotment of seats ‘Online’ by running software
• Eligible candidates who are not holding any seat can participate in Stray Vacancy Round

Stray vacancies:- (DEEMED)

• Final Stray Vacancy Round to be conducted by Deemed/ Central Universities (There will be no Fresh Registration of Candidates in Final Stray Vacancy Round)
• List of ten times (of the registered candidates) of the number of Stray vacancies to be sent to Deemed / Central Universities to be exhausted strictly in order of merit.
• For Deemed Universities the Stray Vacancy Round will be conducted by the respective Deemed University
• Eligible candidates who are not holding any seat can participate in Stray Vacancy Round
