Yenepoya Dental College is a constituent unit of Yenepoya (Deemed to be University) and a professional College with more than 25 years of rich experience which is committed to enabling its Students to achieve and maintain excellence in practice and patient care. The College is affiliated to the Yenepoya University, Mangalore Karnataka and recognized by Dental Council of India with the annual intake of 100 seats in BDS and 57 seats in various streams of Postgraduate Dental Sciences. It is a NAAC - A grade accredited institution.

The Dental college is located on a beautiful hillock with a lush green campus having a dedicated constructed area of 449003.35 sq.ft and a non-constructed area of 9825 sqft with state of the art infrastructure which has set high standards in terms of Dental Education and creates an environment for excellent student oriented, patient friendly environment with dedicated faculty in place. Currently the college is equipped with 425 latest electronic Dental chairs and has set up a well maintained laboratory with all the latest equipment. There are technology driven air conditioned 3 gallery type lecture halls to accommodate 180 students with a large greenboard and full audio-visual and multimedia projection capabilities. There are spacious examination hall with a seating capacity of 250 students at a time and an auditorium hall to accommodate 300 at a time and seminar halls. The Library is spread in a huge area with good collection of books and National and International Journals with back volumes. There is an excellent E-Library facility as well to benefit the students. State of art preclinical labs equipped with patient simulations and Wi Fi enabled campus. There is a Dental education museum within the campus. The campus houses well ventilated spacious hostels for girls and boys separately with staff quarters. The playground in the sprawling campus is ideal for basketball, football, cricket and volleyball and other games. It is attached with the Yenepoya Medical College Hospital for clinical practice.

1.) MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) COUNSELING PROCESS:-

The MCC/DGHS conducts Counseling for allotment of Post Graduate (MD/MS/Diploma and MDS) seats to the NEETPG/MDS eligible and qualified candidates in participating Government Medical/Dental Colleges of the country under 50% All India Quota and 100% Central & Deemed University quota every year. All the candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET PG /MDS conducted by NBE including candidates from Union Territory of J&K will be eligible. The role of the MCC of DGHS is limited to the allotment of seats to the participating candidates, as per their merit and choice, which starts only after receiving the list/data/Information of successful candidates from the National Board of Examinations (NBE) i.e. the NEET (PG) examination conducting body

Candidates who fall under the category of NRI as per the directions/ orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in the case (W.P. No. 689/2017- Consortium of Deemed Universities in Karnataka (CODEUNIK) & Anr. Vs. Union of India &Ors.) dated 22-08- 2017 are eligible for NRI Category seats. OCI/PIO/Foreign Nationals will be eligible for only NRI seats. The eligible Indian National Candidates wanting to get converted to sponsored NRI category have to submit the documents as and when the same is called for by the MCC.

  • The Candidate should have qualified NEET UG.
  • Domicile free Counseling (Open to all)

Step Wise Counseling Process conducted by MCC:

There are four rounds of counseling i.e. Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up Round & Stray Vacancy Round. Out of the four rounds for Deemed Universities, 03 rounds are conducted online by MCC i.e. Round 1, Round 2, and Mop-Up Round. The Stray Vacancy round is conducted physically by the Deemed Universities for which the list of registered & eligible Candidates is forwarded by MCC to the respective Deemed Universities. The allotment shall only be in terms of merit

  1. “Satisfied with the allotted seat and candidate is willing to report to the allotted college, not interested in further allotment of seats in any subsequent round for any discipline”.
  2. The candidate is satisfied with the allotted seat but wishes to participate in the next round. Such candidates should pay the prescribed fees
  3. The candidate is not satisfied with the present allotment and wishes to participate in the next round of counseling. The previously allotted seat is forfeited and offered to the next eligible candidate
  4. Not satisfied with MCC allotted seat and candidate has got seat elsewhere, so the candidate is quitting and not to be considered for allotment of seats in any of the further rounds

Fresh Registration for Mop-up Round (not required for earlier resigned candidates)

  • Allotment of seats ‘Online’ by running software
  • Eligible candidates who are not holding any seat can participate in Stray Vacancy Round

Stray vacancies:- (DEEMED)

  • Final Stray Vacancy Round to be conducted by Deemed/ Central Universities (There will be no Fresh Registration of Candidates in Final Stray Vacancy Round)
  • List of ten times (of the registered candidates) of the number of Stray vacancies to be sent to Deemed / Central Universities to be exhausted strictly in order of merit.
  • For Deemed Universities the Stray Vacancy Round will be conducted by the respective Deemed University
  • Eligible candidates who are not holding any seat can participate in Stray Vacancy Round

2.) KEA (Karnataka Examinations Authority) COUNSELING:

As per consensual agreement between the Karnataka government and Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC) . Manipal Academy Of Higher Education (MAHE) Karnataka shares 2% of there seat in UG and PG For the local students of Karnataka. The Tuition fees will be same as MCC counseling.

KEA (Karnataka Examinations Authority) COUNSELING PROCESS

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), Bengaluru is the designated agency of Government of Karnataka conducting Online / Offline Counseling for allotment of seats for admission to Post Graduate Degree / Diploma Courses in Medical / Dental subjects in Government Medical and Dental colleges, Government Quota seats in Private ,Deemed and Minority Medical and Dental Colleges and Private seats in Private Medical and Dental colleges (KPCF, KRLMPCA, AMPCK & Private Universities) located in the State of Karnataka for the academic year.

The allotment of seats will be conducted in multiple number of iterations.
