The Vardhman Mahavir Medical College is a Government run Medical College which is attached with Safdarjung Hospital. It was established in the Year 2002 and is included in the World Directory of Medical Schools and the Avicenna Directory of Medicine. The College is affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, located in Delhi and recognized by Govt. of India and the National Medical Commission (NMC). It has an annual intake of 170 seats in MBBS, 302 seats in 27 disciplines of Post-Graduate studies and 33 seats in 8 disciplines of super- Specialization studies. The college was ranked 8th among medical colleges in India in 2020 by India Today and 14th by The Week in 2019. The college has got an entry into the World Directory of Medical Schools and the Avicenna Directory of Medicine.
The Medical College and the Safdarjung Hospital are in the same campus and initially the college was run in the Hospital campus itself. It has very good and decent infrastructure with spacious centrally air-conditioned classrooms, 4 Lecture halls to accommodate around 175, Examination rooms, Demonstration rooms, Seminar halls. There are Departmental museums and well-equipped Laboratories. Cafeteria and Recreation halls are amongst the best. There are separate hostel facilities for Boys and Girls and Indoor and Outdoor Games and Sports facilities. The college has a separate library building which is open 24X7 with an excellent collection of medical books and journals, back volumes, Atlases, Dictionaries, Directories, Encyclopaedias, Technical Reports. There are separate Reading rooms and the E- library has good Internet facility. The college has a faculty in the pre-clinical, para-clinical and clinical disciplines. Nirvana is the official annual literary, socio-cultural and sports festival of Vardhaman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjang Hospital, New Delhi.
The Teaching Hospital - Safdarjung Hospital
It is a 2600 bedded multi-specialty hospital, and the largest central government hospital started during the Second World War in India as measured by bed strength. The hospital is located opposite to AIIMS, New Delhi and Until the inception of All India Institute of Medical Science in 1956, Safdarjung Hospital was the only tertiary care hospital in Delhi. The hospital has all the specialities in place with very good patient care facilities. The MCC/DGHS will be doing Counseling for 15% AIQ, 100% Deemed Universities, Central Universities (Delhi University, AMU & BHU including Institutional/ Domicile Quota), 100% ESIC, AFMC (only Registration Part) & I.P University (VMMC & SJH AND ABVIMS & RML & ESIC Dental, Delhi (15% AIQ + 85% Institutional Quota ) 100% AIIMS & 100% JIPMER. There will be four rounds of counseling i.e. Round 1, Round 2 of AIQ and Mop-Up Round & Stray Vacancy Round for 18 AIIMS. Out of the four rounds, three rounds will be conducted online by MCC i.e. Round 1, Round 2, and Mop-Up Round. The Stray Vacancy round shall be conducted by AIIMS for which the list of registered Candidates for the Stray Vacancy, will be forwarded by the MCC to AIIMS. All the candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET UG conducted by NTA including candidates from the Union Territory of J&K will be eligible.

Reservation for candidates belonging to different categories is provided for admission to MBBS/BDS course. All the candidates who belongs to any of the category can claim ofr the same. The details of reservation are as follows.

Registration Fees
- Students have to pay two kinds of fee
For (15% All India Quota)/ Central Universities (DU, AMU, BHU and Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi)/AFMC & ESI/ All AIIMS/ JIPMER Non Refundable Registration fee:- Rs. 1000/- for UR candidates & Rs. 500/- For SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH candidates.
Refundable security amount:- Rs.10,000/- for UR candidates & Rs. 5,000/- for SC/ST/OBC/PH e.g. any UR candidate opting for Central Universities/ AFMC/ ESI will pay Rs. 1000/-+ Rs. 10,000= Rs. 11,000 at the time of registration.
Any SC/ST/OBC/PH candidate will pay Rs. 500 + Rs.5,000 = Rs. 5,500 at the time of registration.
REGISTRATION & COUNSELING PROCESS
ROUND-1
a) Main counseling Registration which will include payment of Non-Refundable Registration fee and Refundable Security Deposit (to be refunded only in the account from which payment has been made).
b) Exercising of Choices and Locking of choices.
c) Process of Seat Allotment Round-1
d) Publication of result of Round-1on MCC website
e) Reporting at the Allotted Medical/Dental College against 1 Round.
ROUND-2 (Candidates who registered for Round-1 and did not get any seat allotted are not required to register again.)
a) Fresh New Registration for Round-2 for those candidates who • Have not registered in Round-1 (with full payment of fees). • Have Resigned / Not reported in Round-1 need not register again. • Fresh Choice filling Round-2.
b) Publication of result of Round-2 on MCC website.
c) Reporting at the Allotted Medical/Dental College against Round 2
END of 15 % All India Counselling and reverting of Non-Joined, Not allotted seats to State quota / Institutional Quota of Central University /Central Institute. MOP –UP ROUND
Mop Up Round (Only for Deemed/ Central Universities, ESIC, AIIMS & JIPMER)
Fresh Registration with payment of registration fee for Mop Up Round for the following candidates :
i. Those who registered in Round-1 & exited availing Free Exit
ii. Who registered in Round-2 & exited with Forfeiture of fees can register again with payment of fees.
However, candidates who have already joined and taken admission in Round-2 of AIQ/Deemed/ Central Universities/AIIMS/JIPMER will not be eligible to participate in Mop Up Round. (Those who registered but were not allotted a seat in Round-1 & Round-2 need not register again).
List of Registered Candidates ten times the number of Stray vacancies to be sent to Deemed / Central Universities/AIIMS/JIPMER to be exhausted strictly in order of merit.
