The Subbaiah Institute of Dental Sciences, Purale, Shimoga, is a Private College established in the Year 2014. The College is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka and recognized by Dental Council of India with the annual intake of 100 seats in BDS.

The Dental college is located in a constructed area of 160000 sq.ft with state of the art infrastructure which has set high standards in terms of Dental Education and creates an environment for excellent student oriented, patient friendly environment with dedicated faculty in place. Currently the college is equipped with 203 latest electronic Dental chairs and has set up a well maintained laboratory with all the latest equipment. There are technology driven air conditioned gallery type lecture halls with a large greenboard and full audio-visual and multimedia projection capabilities. There are spacious examination hall and seminar halls. The Library is spread in a huge area with good collection of books and National and International Journals with back volumes. There is an excellent E-Library facility as well to benefit the students. State of art preclinical labs equipped with patient simulations and Wi Fi enabled campus. There is a Dental education museum within the campus. The campus houses well ventilated spacious hostels for girls and boys separately with staff quarters. The playground in the sprawling campus is ideal for basketball, football, cricket and volleyball and other games. It is attached with the Subbaiah Medical College Hospital And Research Center for clinical practice.
