The Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (SGRD) Sri Amritsar, is run by a Trust and was established in the Year 1997. The college is recognized by Govt. of India and the National Medical Commission (NMC) and affiliated to Sri Guru Ram Das University of Health Sciences, Sri Amritsar. The college offers 150 seats in MBBS, 79 seats in 18 disciplines of Postgraduate studies. The college is a Sikh minority medical educational institution. The Institute Is Located at the Amritsar-Mehta Road with a sprawling campus.

The Medical College and Hospital is located in a sprawling campus of over 11.56 acres with an excellent infrastructure. The medical aspirants seeking MBBS/BDS admission at Punjab will have to register themselves through Combined centralized counseling under the aegis of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. by filling out their application form. Punjab, MBBS/BDS admission is done on the basis of marks secured in NEET. Candidates who will qualify NEET Exam and meet the eligibility requirements can only register and fill the application form for Punjab, MBBS / BDS admission. Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot counseling is conducted in Three Round (Round 1(online), Round 2(Physical Counseling), and Mop-up Round(Physical Counseling)). The fourth round being the College Round, if the number of vacant seats is x, then a 10x the list of registered candidates will be sent to the college and is to be exhausted strictly in order of merit.

Eligibility For Admission
1. Qualification:

• 12th or (10+2 Equivalent) with Minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English for UR & 40% for SC/ST/OBC.
• Those who have qualified NEET by scoring the minimum qualifying percentage will be eligible for the Admission and Counseling. Candidates should have earned a minimum of 50 percentile (40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC and 45th percentile for General-PH) in order to become eligible for NEET counseling rounds
• He/she has completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete that age on or before 31 December of the year of his/her admission to the first year Undergraduate Medical Courses.

Government Seats (Competent Authority Quota)

Means and includes seats in Government colleges and Government share of seats in Private colleges.

• 85% of Seats in Government colleges (after exclusion of 15 % seats transferred to All India Quota)
• Reservation in Government Medical/ Dental Institutes shall be as under:

Management Quota

Non-Resident Indian (NRI) Seats

15% seats in all Private Institutes/Guru Gobind Singh Medical College Faridkot and 13 seats each in Govt. Medical College. Patiala and Amritsar and 3 seats in Govt. Dental College, Amritsar, and 4 seats in Govt. Dental College, Patiala shall be earmarked for the Non-Resident Indians in the following order:
