The Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Dental Sciences & Research, Amritsar, is a Private College, Established in the year of 1992, The College is affiliated to Baba Farid University of Health Sciences with the annual intake of 60 seats.The Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee, Sri Amritsar decided to start BDS course in Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Dental Sciences & Research, Sri Amritsar in the year 1992 by constituting a Trust namely Sri Guru Ram Das Charitable Hospital Trust which was formed on 15.12.1992. Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Amritsar was also started in the year 1997 under the control of Sri Guru Ram Das Charitable Hospital Trust, Amritsar.The Punjab Govt. accorded necessary sanction for start of BDS course with intake capacity of 60 students in this Institute and Guru Nanak Dev university, Amritsar granted affiliation to it. First batch of 60 students was admitted in 1992.

Bachelor of Dental Surgery in Punjab, Sri Guru Ram Das Institute of Dental Sciences & Research

The medical aspirants seeking MBBS/BDS admission at Punjab will have to register themselves through Combined centralized counseling under the aegis of Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot. by filling out their application form. Punjab, MBBS/BDS admission is done on the basis of marks secured in NEET. Candidates who will qualify NEET Exam and meet the eligibility requirements can only register and fill the application form for Punjab, MBBS / BDS admission. Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot counseling is conducted in Three Round (Round 1(online), Round 2(Physical Counseling), and Mop-up Round(Physical Counseling)). The fourth round being the College Round, if the number of vacant seats is x, then a 10x the list of registered candidates will be sent to the college and is to be exhausted strictly in order of merit.

Eligibility For Admission
1. Qualification:

  • 12th or (10+2 Equivalent) with Minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English for UR & 40% for SC/ST/OBC.
  • Those who have qualified NEET by scoring the minimum qualifying percentage will be eligible for the Admission and Counseling. Candidates should have earned a minimum of 50 percentile (40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC and 45th percentile for General-PH) in order to become eligible for NEET counseling rounds
  • He/she has completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete that age on or before 31 December of the year of his/her admission to the first year Undergraduate Medical Courses.

Government Seats (Competent Authority Quota)

Means and includes seats in Government colleges and Government share of seats in Private colleges.

  • 85% of Seats in Government colleges (after exclusion of 15 % seats transferred to All India Quota)

Dental College, Amritsar, and 4 seats in Govt. Dental College, Patiala shall be earmarked for the Non-Resident Indians in the following order:

Category I: NRI/Children of NRI who originally belong to the State of Punjab.
