The Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Medical College, Mandi, HP, is a Government College established in the Year 2017. The College is affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University and recognized by National Medical Commission (NMC) with the annual intake of 120 seats in MBBS. The Medical College was founded as Employee's State Insurance Corporation Medical College by Shri Oskar Fernandes the then Hon’ble Minister of Labour & Employment, GOI in the year 2009 and now named as Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri Govt. Medical College. 

The campus Spreads over lush Green area of 32 acres which houses main medical college building, teaching hospital, Doctors staff Quarters, Resident doctor hostel, Boys and Girls hostel, Playground and offer Supportive facilities. There are very good spacious gallery type Lecture halls in the college and in the hospital. There are  Examination halls & Demonstration rooms. The Institute is fully equipped with clinical Laboratories, Departmental Museums and Auditorium with a seating capacity of 800. Library and information center is located in a huge area with good collection of Medical Books, Indian & Foreign Journals with separate reading space for students & Teaching Staff and a Digital Library. There are facilities for Indoor and Outdoor Games and Sports facility like Gymnasium, Badminton Hall, Table Tennis, Football ground, Hockey, Basketball court. 

The Teaching Hospital

The hospital is located in an area of 45 Bhigas of land and is a tertiary care hospital serving people of in and around area. 24X7 emergency and trauma care facility, Eye bank and blood bank facilities are available. There are very good clinical and diagnostic facilities in the Hospital. The Hospital has facilities for burn treatment, Critical care services, Pharmacy and Physiotherapy. The Hospital's general specialities include General Medicine, General Surgery, OBG, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Radiodiagnosis, ENT, Ophthalmology, Anaesthesiology, Pathology, Microbiology, Biochemistry & Forensic Medicine.

Admission Process

The Atal Medical & Research University, Himachal Pradesh On Behalf Of The Government Of Himachal Pradesh Department Of Medical Education & Research will be conducting the counseling on behalf of the Government of Himachal Pradesh (Department of Medical Education & Research) through Centralized Counselling Committee constituted by the Government of Himachal Pradesh. The medical aspirants seeking MBBS/BDS admission to Himachal Pradesh will have to register themselves for the Centralized Counselling process of Atal Medical & Research University, Himachal Pradesh, Shimla admission process by filling out their application form. Himachal Pradesh  MBBS/BDS admission is done on the basis of marks secured in NEET-UG. Candidates who will qualify NEET Exam and meet the eligibility requirements can only register and fill the application form for Himachal Pradesh University (HPU), MBBS / BDS  admission. Atal Medical & Research University, Himachal Pradesh, counseling is conducted in Three rounds (Round 1, Round 2, and Subsequent MOP UP rounds). Seat selection for Government Seats and for Management quota seats will be through web counseling.

Note Any change in the counseling schedule, the same shall be uploaded on the University website www.amruhp.ac.in. Therefore, the candidates are advised to remain in touch regularly with the University website till the completion of the admission process.

Eligibility For Admission
1. Qualification:

  • 12th or (10+2 Equivalent) with Minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English for UR &  40% for SC/ST/OBC.
  • Those who have qualified for NEET 2020 by scoring the minimum qualifying percentage will be eligible for Admission and Counseling. Candidates should have earned a minimum of 50 percentile (40th  percentile for SC/ST/OBC and 45th percentile for General-PH) in order to become eligible for NEET2020 counseling rounds
  • AGE: A student must have completed an age of 17 years at the time of admission under NEET eligibility or should complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course. The upper age limit is 25 years as of the date of examination with a relaxation of 5 years for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC-NCL category and Persons with Disability (PwD) candidates.

Management Quota Seats

The Management Quota Seats in Private un-aided Medical/Dental Colleges in the State of Himachal Pradesh shall be filled up from the qualified candidates of HP-MBBS/BDS NEET-UG in order of common merit drawn by the University for which there will be no condition of schooling and Bonafide Himachali. Under this quota, both Himachali and Non-Himachali (Indian National) interested candidates can apply online for admission to MBBS/BDS courses through Centralized Counselling subject to fulfillment of minimum educational qualification and age, etc.
