Srirama Chandra Bhanj Medical College & Hospital (S.C.B Medical College) is a a public medical college in Cuttack and a premier medical institute in India in medical teaching, training, research, and patient care. It is one of the oldest centers of medical teaching and training in India established in the year 1944 - In the Pre-Independence era. It is affiliated to Utkal University, Bhubaneswar and and recognized by National Medical Commission (NMC) with an annual intake of 250 MBBS seats, 225 seats in 26 disciplines of Postgraduate studies and 43 seats in 12 disciplines of Super-Specialization studies.
This Institution is situated in the city of Cuttack with a sprawling campus of 101 acres. It has technology-infused Gallery type Lecture halls, Demonstration halls, Common rooms for Boys and Girls, Examination hall. It has latest Medical Skills Lab & Departmental museums. The well-equipped, modernized, and latest Technology-driven equipment make the Laboratory unique. Cafeteria and Recreation halls are amongst the best. The campus has five hostels including Old Gents Hostel and New Gents Hostel for undergraduate men. It has one each hostel for undergraduate women, postgraduate women, postgraduate men, house staff students and nursing students. The Central Library with more than 500 seating capacity is one among the best in Odisha and acquires huge volumes of books and National and International journals. The collection includes Textbooks, Atlases, Dictionaries, Directories, Encyclopaedias, Technical Reports and has an excellent facility of E- Library with separate Departmental libraries as well. There are facilities for Indoor and Outdoor Games and Sports. National programmes like family Welfare Training in Regional Family Welfare Training Centre, Post Partum Programme attached to Obstetrics & Gynecology Department, ICMR Programme, IGNOU study center, Regional Spinal injury center and treatment of Geriatric patients in Geriatric OPD are functioning in this institution.

This is a State Government Medical College and Hospital set up by the Government of Odisha under the Health & Family Welfare Department for Teaching, Research and providing multispecialty patient care. This is one of the largest tertiary care hospitals with 2132 beds focusing towards a massive redevelopment program and is soon going to transform into a world class health facility with 3000 beds in the first phase and 5000 beds by the end of the project. All the services all the Diagnostic, Medicine services & Stay are free for all the Patients. All routine and emergency laboratory services are available round the clock. Radio Diagnostic Services are available to include X-Rays, Ultrasonography, Mammography, Digital CT Scan & MRI. On average, more than 6000 patients attend the OPD daily and more than 2000 patients are treated daily in the IPD, casualty, and emergency wards. Indoor patient care is catering to the needs of the State, as well as the neighboring States. There is a 180 bedded Intensive Care Unit for taking care of seriously ill patients. There is a Labour Room for conducting deliveries round the clock. A 24 x 7 Emergency O.T. facility is available. Free diet is provided to all the indoor patients as per Odisha Govt. rules. All the diagnostic services, medicines, surgeries, Renal Transplantation, Bone Marrow Transplantation, accommodation & food for patients are provided free of cost.
In 2001, Telemedicine Services were established in collaboration with ISRO and Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow for providing distant medical education to our medical students, teleconsultation for critically ill patients, follow-up treatment facility, and Telemedical video conference. Currently the Telemedicine center of SCB is connected with all the District headquarter Hospitals and all the other Medical College Hospitals. It has played a vital role in the virtual training of doctors in the management of COVID patients and ensuring that the teaching program of medical students is not hampered.
OPD services are available on all days (including Sundays and gazetted holidays) from 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM. Various out-patient services available in the hospital are -General Medicine, Paediatrics, Tuberculosis & Respiratory Diseases, Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy (Skin& V.D.), Psychiatry, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Ophthalmology(Eye), Oto-rhino-laryngology (ENT), Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Dental Surgery, Community Medicine (Immunization, Anti-rabies Clinic), Mental Health. Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Nephrology, Endocrinology, Neurology, Rheumatology, Urology (Including Renal Transplant Surgery OPD) Neurosurgery, Endocrinology Surgery Cardiothoracic, and Vascular Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Plastic surgery, Clinical Haematology (Including Bone Marrow Transplant OPD) are available on designated days of the week and Day Care Center services for Six days a week( 9AM to 5PM of Monday to Saturday)

Nursing (only 08 Central Institutes).The role of MCC of DGHS is limited to allotment of seats to the participating candidates, as per their merit and choice, which starts only after receiving the list/data/Information of successful candidates from National Testing Agency i.e. the NEET (UG) examination conducting body
There will be four rounds of AIQ online counseling i.e. AIQ Round 1, AIQ Round 2, AIQ Mop-Up Round and AIQ Stray Vacancy Round (SLA (C) No. 10487 of 2021 in the matter of Nihila P.P. v/s MCC & Ors. Hon’ble Supreme Court of India) which will be conducted in online mode. All candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET UG conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) across the Country. Eligible candidates may download the Rank letter/ Result from NTA website. Cut-off rank of eligible candidates will also be available on the MCC website (www.mcc.nic.in). No seats will be reverted back after the completion of round 2 of AIQ to the States.
