North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMC&H) is a Government Medical College established in the year located in Siliguri, West Bengal, India. It is the largest and the sole healthcare facility in North Bengal region of the West Bengal, serving as a tertiary referral institute. The college has teaching programs for graduation and postgraduation. It is one of the twelve government medical colleges in West Bengal and the largest in terms of area and patient influx. It is affiliated with West Bengal University of Health Sciences, and recognized by National Medical Commission (NMC) with an annual intake of 200 seats in MBBS and 72 seats in 16 disciplines of Postgraduate studies.
The college and hospital buildings, spread over a sprawling campus of 161 acres with an excellent infrastructure. The college is equipped with gallery type Lecture halls, Demonstration halls, Common rooms for Boys and Girls, Examination hall. It has latest Medical Skills Lab & Departmental museums. The well-equipped, modernized, and latest Technology-driven equipment make the Laboratory unique. Cafeteria and Recreation halls are amongst the best. There are separate hostel facilities for Boys and Girls. The Central Library acquires huge volumes of books and National and International journals. The collection includes Textbooks, Atlases, Dictionaries, Directories, Encyclopaedias, Technical Reports and has an excellent facility of E- Library with separate Departmental libraries as well. There are facilities for Indoor and Outdoor Games and Sports.
The Teaching Hospital
The hospital has a bed strength of 862 and caters to a large population of 15 million in North Bengal, from the surrounding states of north east India and the neighbouring countries of Nepal, Bhutan and Bangladesh, with a patient occupancy rate of 137% (largest in entire Bengal). With the largest campus in entire West Bengal, it caters to the largest patient flow in entire Bengal mainly comprising patients from North Bengal, Bangladesh (Rangpur, Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Dhaka, Sirajganj), Nepal, Bhutan and the entire North East India. It has been recognised as a testing and treatment center for COVID-19 in North Bengal with NICED, Indian School of Tropical Medicine and Beliaghata ID & BG Hospital. 24X7 emergency and trauma care facility, Eye bank and blood bank facilities are available. There are very good clinical and diagnostic facilities in the Hospital. There are huge number of OPD's and In-Patient flow everyday. There are well equipped Operation Theatres and exclusive ICU's to cater to critical patients. The Hospital has facilities for burn treatment, Critical care services, Pharmacy and Physiotherapy. The Hospital's general specialities include General Medicine, General Surgery, OBG, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Radiodiagnosis, ENT, Ophthalmology, Anaesthesiology, Pathology, Microbiology, Biochemistry & Forensic Medicine. Super-Speciality departments include: Cardiology, Pediatric Surgery, Gastroenterology, Plastic Surgery, Urology, Facio Maxillary & Dialysis. Selected under MoHFW scheme for super specialty care (along with Bankura Sammilani Medical College) which would include 166 beds for subspecialty care in neurosurgery, CTVS and so forth.

The medical aspirants seeking MBBS/BDS admission at WEST BENGAL ( WEST BENGAL UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES ) will have to register themselves for the WBMCC admission process by filling out their application form. West Bengal, MBBS/BDS admission is done on the basis of marks secured in NEET. Candidates who will qualify NEET Exam and meet the eligibility requirements can only register and fill the application form of West Bengal, MBBS / BDS admission.
