Nalanda Medical College established in the year 1970 is a government run Pulic Medical College. It is located in Patna city and is easily accessible by Road, Rail and Aerial route. The college is affiliated to Aryabhatta Knowledge University, Patna and recognized by recognized by Govt. of India and the National Medical Commission (NMC). It has an annual intake of 150 seats in MBBS and 87 seats in 17 disciplines of Post-Graduate studies.
It is located in a huge area with good decent infrastructure. There are huge classrooms, Lecture halls, Examination halls, Demonstration rooms and Seminar halls. There are Fully equipped laboratories and departmental museums. The college has Canteen facilities for students. There are separate hostel facilities for Boys and Girls and Indoor and Outdoor Games and Sports facilities. There is one Auditorium in the college and one at the Hospital. The college has a separate library area just above the administrative office. It is built in an area of over 17172sq.ft with good collection of Medical books and Journals, Back volumes, Atlases, Dictionaries, Directories, Encyclopaedias, Technical Reports, E-Library and separate reading rooms. The college has the pre-clinical, para-clinical and clinical disciplines.

Nalanda Medical College and Hospital has about 100 acres of land and different departments of the hospital are spread over several buildings in the campus. The different departments are well equipped with modern equipments and expert doctors. NMCH is a major hub for treatment of all specialty in eastern Patna taking care of approximately 2000 patient per day in OPD. The no of admission of patient per day in different departments and in casualty as well as in emergency is also very high. The hospital has about 750 beds with a very high percentage of bed occupancy. Hospital has fully computerized centralized registration counter. Distribution of medicine among the OPD patients as well as to the admitted patients is done as per Bihar government guidelines. The hospital has state of the art lecture theatre fully air-conditioned with multimedia projector and other audio video aids. It has well equipped seminar hall comprising almost all the books of latest edition. OT is equipped with modern equipment for minimal invasive surgery and Endo Urology. There is central gas pipe line and central Suction. The Hospital is located at Agamkuan and is well connected by all communication means. Apart from regular medical treatment and care several national health programs like pulse polio vaccination program are also run in the hospital.
NMC Hospital has adequate provision for admitting patients with a total bed strength of 500. The hospital runs OPD services in Medicine, Surgery, Eye, ENT, Obstetric & Gynaecology, Paediatrics, Orthopedics, Psychiatry and also a Dental OPD. There are also OPD services in certain super-specialty departments. Radiology Department. The Radiology department is well equipped with all latest state-of-the-art equipment. And has facility for X-ray, Ultrasonography & Specialized X-ray’s also. There is also a CT Scan machine available for patients in the hospital. Laboratory Service Nalanda Medical College & Hospital has facility for laboratory investigations.
There is a Central Pathology lab on the ground floor of the OPD block and it does a host of investigations. There is also a 24 hours Emergency Lab, situated in the emergency block, for round-the-clock investigation & reporting. Specialized Tests like Histopathology, FNAC, Bone Marrow examination, Special Microbiological tests are done in the department of Pathology & Microbiology situated in the Medical college campus on Kankar bagh Main road. The Department of Biochemistry also does special investigations of all patients who are admitted in NMCH, in the College.

There will be four rounds of AIQ online counseling i.e. AIQ Round 1, AIQ Round 2, AIQ Mop-Up Round and AIQ Stray Vacancy Round (SLA (C) No. 10487 of 2021 in the matter of Nihila P.P. v/s MCC & Ors. Hon’ble Supreme Court of India) which will be conducted in online mode. All candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET UG conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) across the Country. Eligible candidates may download the Rank letter/ Result from NTA website. Cut-off rank of eligible candidates will also be available on the MCC website (www.mcc.nic.in). No seats will be reverted back after the completion of round 2 of AIQ to the States.
