The MP Shah Medical College, is one of the oldest Medical College established in the Year 1955. The College is affiliated to Saurashtra University and recognized by National Medical Commission (NMC), India. The Medical College has an annual intake of 250 MBBS seats, 149 seats in 21 disciplines of Post-Graduate studies and 1 seat in 1 discipline of Super-Specialization studies.
The Medical College campus is located in a sprawling over an area of 61 acres which houses the main buildings of Medical College, hostels for students and residential quarters for different categories of staff. There are excellent and spacious Lecture halls, Examination halls & Demonstration rooms. The Institute is fully equipped with clinical Laboratories, Departmental Museums and Auditorium. Library and information center is located in a huge area of over 4000sqmt with good collection of Medical Books of over 18000+, Indian & Foreign Journals with separate reading space for students & Teaching Staff and a Digital Library. There are facilities for Indoor and Outdoor Games and Sports.

The Medical College is associated with the Guru Gobindsingh Hospitals, the second largest hospital complex in the state of Gujarat. G.G. Hospital (the academic medical center associated with M.P. Shah Medical College) was inaugurated by Lord Irwin in 1927. In 1933, during the rule of Digvijaysinhji Ranjitsinhji Irwin Hospital was expanded, with the addition of specialty departments. Shri Abdul Karim Jamal started a dispensary opposite Irwin Hospital (A. K. Jamal Dispensary) and the Sarmatwala dispensary was started during this period. All these dispensaries including the city dispensary were merged with G.G Hospital — hence the name G.G. Hospitals. Starting with 200 beds in 1927, the hospital has seen several major expansions. Today, it is one of the leading tertiary care and referral medical centers for the region of Saurashtra with a bed strength of 1275 (2005). The hospital has 50 indoor wards and 10 operation theaters. The Hospital's general specialities include General Medicine, General Surgery, OBG, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Radiodiagnosis, ENT, Ophthalmology, Anaesthesiology, Pathology, Microbiology, Biochemistry & Forensic Medicine. The responsibility of the Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Courses (ACPUGMEC) is limited to the conduct of centralized counseling, which includes online registration, document verification, online/offline counseling procedure, seat allotment, and issue of admission order as per NEET-UG of the current academic year. The medical aspirants seeking MBBS/BDS admission at Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate Medical Courses (ACPUGMEC) will have to register themselves for the ACPUGMEC admission process by filling out their application form. Gujarat, MBBS/BDS admission is done on the basis of marks secured in NEET.
Candidates who will qualify NEET UG Exam and meet the eligibility requirements can only register and fill the application form for Gujarat, MBBS / BDS admission. Online information provided by candidates like name of the candidate, contact address details, category, PwD status, educational qualification details, date of birth, etc. during online submission of application form for NEET-UG of the current academic year will be treated as correct and ACPUGMEC will not entertain, under any circumstances, any request for change. ACPUGMEC disclaims any liability that may arise to the candidate(s) due to incorrect information provided by the candidate during the online registration process.
Conduct of Admissions-
There shall be only two Rounds (Round 1 and Round 2 ) of common counseling, each conducted by the Admission Committee. Manual counseling for the allotment (Mop-Up (Offline) Round of Counseling) of students shall be conducted by the Admission Committee to ascertain the number of seats that still remain vacant after the two rounds of online counseling. A list of students in order of merit shall be prepared by the Admission Committee so that in case of any stray vacancy arising in any college, the said seat shall be filled up from the merit list.

*The candidate applying for NRI Quota, document verification and submission will be done only at Office of ACPUGMEC, Ground Floor, GMERS Medical College, Civil Hospital Campus, Gandhinagar – 382016, Gujarat. They have to submit a Demand draft of Rs. 10,000/- (Non-Refundable) in favor of ‘ACPUGMEC’, payable at Gandhinagar as a processing fee at the Office of ACPUGMEC, GMERS Medical College, Gandhinagar only at the time of document verification and submission.
After completion of registration, take a print-out of the Registration details. The candidate has to take prior appointments for the Document Verification and Submission of photocopies of Documents at Help Center. The candidate, himself/herself, can select the Date, Time slot, and Help Center for Document Verification at the time of printing the Registration details. Visit the appointed help center with Original documents. Attach self-attested copies of required documents with Registration details and submit them to the Help Centers. The candidate has to get the ‘Registration Acknowledgement Slip’ duly signed by a nodal officer of the respective help center to complete his registration process

After the registration process, ACPUGMEC will prepare and declare the merit list of all eligible candidates. The candidate needs to verify the merit number and category as mentioned in registration details.
The candidate has to pay the requisite amount of tuition fees of his allotted institute by cash/DD at any of the designated bank branches or through online payment within the time limit specified by the ACPUGMEC.
