The M G M Medical College, Jamshedpur is a Government College established in the Year 1961. The College is affiliated to Kolhan University, Chaibasa, located in Jharkhand and and recognized by National Medical Commission (NMC). It has an annual intake of 50 MBBS seats and 13 seats in 8 disciplines of Post-Graduate studies. 

The Medical college and Hospital is spread in over a large area of over 45 acres which 6 kilometers away from the city centre, in the foothill of dalma range. The college has a lush green cover with College, Administrative office and Hostel building within the campus and has very good infrastructure. There are very good spacious Classrooms, Lecture halls, Examination halls & Demonstration rooms. The Institute is fully equipped with clinical Laboratories, Museums and Auditorium. Library and information center is located in a huge area with good collection of Medical Books, Indian & Foreign Journals with separate reading space for students & Teaching Staff and a Digital Library. There are facilities for Indoor and Outdoor Games and Sports. 

The Teaching Hospital

The college's hospital is located in Sakchi which is a 514 bedded Teaching Hospital of  Medical College has been designed and built to suite the required standards with all the essential and desirable facilities. The hospital complex houses three -storied buildings that accommodate the OPDs and wards of the clinical departments, Emergency department, Operation Theaters, Central Laboratory, Blood Bank, Pharmacies, and Canteen etc. Fully furnished residential accommodation has been provided to all the Medical Doctors, Nursing and other Para-Medical staff in close Vicinity of the hospital. Round the clock Ambulance, Pharmacy, Blood Bank services are available within the hospital complex. The OPDs of the various departments together have a capacity to treat about 1000 patients daily. The average daily OPD attendance is between 600 to 700. The average Bed Occupancy in the wards remain around 75 percent throughout the year. 24X7 emergency and trauma care facility, Eye bank and blood bank facilities are available. There are very good clinical and diagnostic facilities in the Hospital. The Hospital has facilities for burn treatment, Critical care services, Pharmacy and Physiotherapy. The Hospital's general specialities include General Medicine, General Surgery, OBG, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Radiodiagnosis, ENT, Ophthalmology, Anaesthesiology, Pathology, Microbiology, Biochemistry & Forensic Medicine.

Admission Process

Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in Jharkhand 

 The medical aspirants seeking MBBS/BDS admission at  Jharkhand will have to register themselves for the Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (J.C.E.C.E.B )  admission section for the admission process by filling out their application form. Jharkhand, MBBS/BDS admission 2020 is done on the basis of marks secured in NEET-UG. Candidates who will qualify NEET-UG Exam and meet the eligibility requirements can only register and fill the application form for J.C.E.C.E.B – MBBS / BDS admission. J.C.E.C.E.B  counseling is conducted in Three Round (Round 1, Round 2, and Subsequent MOP UP rounds (Personal Counselling). Seat selection for Round 1 And Round 2 Government Seats will be through web counseling

Eligibility For Admission
1. Qualification:

  • 12th or (10+2 Equivalent) with Minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English for UR &  40% for SC/ST/OBC.
  • Those who have qualified NEET 2020 by scoring the minimum qualifying percentage will be eligible for the Admission and Counseling. Candidates should have earned a minimum of 50 percentile (40th  percentile for SC/ST/OBC and 45th percentile for General-PH) in order to become eligible for NEET2020 counseling rounds
  • The candidate must have attained the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course..
