Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) is one of the finest medical colleges located in New Delhi, India. Currently, it is ranked as the third best Medical College in India by India Today, fifth by The Week and 11 by Outlook India and 17th among medical colleges in India by the National Institutional Ranking Framework in 2020. It is named after Indian freedom fighter and first education minister of independent India Maulana Abul Kalam Azad.  It was established in the year 1958 and is affiliated to University of Delhi and run by the Delhi Government and and recognized by Govt. of India and the National Medical Commission (NMC). It has an annual intake of 250 seats in MBBS, 225 seats in 23 disciplines of Post-Graduate studies and 6 seats in 2 disciplines of super- Specialization studies. The college is considered to be one of the best destination to study Medical Sciences owing to the best of faculty, rigorous training and a great opportunity for research studies. The college has a long list of great alumni who have excelled nationally and globally. Students have grabbed numerous awards and appreciations at the local and the national level. 

The MAMC is spread in a sprawling campus of over 122 acres with a very notable infrastructure. There are spacious centrally air-conditioned classrooms, Lecture halls to accommodate around 250 , Examination rooms, Demonstration rooms, Seminar halls. There are Departmental museums and well-equipped Laboratories and Dissection halls where one cadaver is dedicated for 50 students. Cafeteria and Recreation halls are amongst the best. There are separate hostel facilities for Boys and Girls with all facilities. There are 2 boys hostel and 2 girls hostel along with intern hostel. Indoor and Outdoor Games and Sports facilities like tennis courts, badminton court, basketball courts, volleyball court, cricket ground and open ground are there within the campus. The college has a huge Central library building which is open 24X7 with an excellent collection of medical books and journals, back volumes, Atlases, Dictionaries, Directories, Encyclopaedias, Technical Reports. There are separate Reading rooms and the E- library has good Internet facility. The college has a faculty in the pre-clinical, para-clinical and clinical disciplines. 

The Teaching Hospital

The MAMC has attachments to the four best hospitals for clinical experience. The four hospitals are: Lok Nayak Jay Prakash Hospital, GB Pant Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research, Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences and Guru Nanak Eye Centre – are situated in the college campus and attached to the college. These hospitals collectively make available 2800 beds, 7200 daily outpatient attendance and 47 operation theatres for the patients and for the medical students to learn. Extending health care facilities to above 30,000 rural population of Delhi through its organized centers in the community.     Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)/BDS IN UNIVERSITY OF DELHI FACULTY OF MEDICAL SCIENCES

    The medical aspirants seeking MBBS/BDS admission at UNIVERSITY OF DELHI FACULTY OF MEDICAL SCIENCES will have to register themselves for the Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) admission process by filling out their application form. MBBS/BDS admission is done on the basis of marks secured in NEET-UG.

    1. The University of Delhi conducts MBBS Course in three Medical Colleges i.e. Lady Hardinge Medical College(LHMC), Maulana Azad Medical College(MAMC), University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS) and BDS Course at Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences (MAIDS).
    2. Only female candidates are eligible for admission in LHMC.

    Eligibility For Admission

    Qualification:

    • 12th or (10+2 Equivalent) with Minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English for UR &  40% for SC/ST/OBC.
    • Those who have qualified NEET-UG by scoring the minimum qualifying percentage will be eligible for Admission and Counseling. Candidates should have earned a minimum of 50 percentile (40th  percentile for SC/ST/OBC and 45th percentile for General-PH) in order to become eligible for NEET-UG counseling rounds
    • AGE: A student must have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission under NEET-UG eligibility or should complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course.

    Reservation for candidates belonging to different categories is provided for admission to MBBS/BDS course. All the candidates who belongs to any of the category can claim ofr the same. The details of reservation are as follows.

    ADMISSION PROCEDURE:-

    • ONLINE REGISTRATION FOR COUNSELLING: The candidates are required to register themselves online on www.mcc.nic.in / Ministry of Health & Family Welfare(Govt. of India) to participate in Counselling of UG (MBBS/BDS) Courses - 2020.
    • Admissions (After successful allotment of MBBS/BDS seats by MCC for 85% Delhi Quota):
    1. Only those candidates who are allotted seats in colleges affiliated to University of Delhi, after successful allotment of seats by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare (Government of India) are required to register themselves for admission online at Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Delhi website www.fmsc.ac.in online link - Application for admission to MBBS/BDS for 85% Delhi Quota. They are required to complete the Registration by uploading their documents, photograph, signatures and the online payment of registration Fee.
    2. Before initiating the registration for admission, the candidates are advised to refer to UG (MBBS/BDS) Bulletin of Information thoroughly.
    3. Any candidate, who has not been allotted any seat in University of Delhi under 85% Delhi Quota or if otherwise ineligible to register for admission, somehow registered himself/herself on www.fmsc.ac.in, in such cases their registration will be invalid and no refund of fee will be done under any circumstances.
    • Admission Process after successful Allotment of seats by MCC/Ministry of Health& Family Welfare(Government of India):
    1. All the candidates seeking admission to the Under-graduate (MBBS/BDS) courses are required to register online on website : www.fmsc.ac.in.
    2. Online registration details for admission to the Under-graduate (MBBS/BDS) courses are available on Faculty website :- www.fmsc.ac.in.
    3. As a first time user, candidate shall create the login details

     

    REGISTRATION & COUNSELING PROCESS  MCC

    • 15% Seats will be contributed by the Delhi University to All India Quota. For the rest 85% seats, candidates who have studied 11th & 12th grade in Delhi NCT are eligible for Institutional Quota of 85% in Delhi University
    • Eligibility Condition for DU State Quota: .
    1. To become eligible for 85% Delhi Quota, the candidate must have passed 11th and 12th standard examination under 10+2 system conducted by CBSE/ Indian School \certificate examination/ Jamia Milia Islamia, New Delhi or any other equivalent examination from a recognized school situated within the NCT of Delhi only.
    2. The candidates who have passed qualifying examination from Patrachar Vidyalaya or National Institute of Open Schooling will be eligible for admission in MBBS/ BDS courses under 85% Delhi Quota provided their study center and the examination Center were within the National Capital Territory of Delhi (NCTD) and they must upload a certificate from the controlling authority of Patrachar Vidyalaya/ NIOS in this regard. (The eligibility condition for internal quota is provided by DU. MCC has no role to play in this regard

    ROUND-1 

    a) Main counseling Registration which will include payment of Non-Refundable Registration fee and Refundable Security Deposit (to be refunded only in the account from which payment has been made). 

    b) Exercising of Choices and Locking of choices.

     c) Process of Seat Allotment Round-1 

    d) Publication of result of Round-1on MCC website 

    e) Reporting at the Allotted Medical/Dental College against 1 Round. 

    ROUND-2 (Candidates who registered for Round-1 and did not get any seat allotted are not required to register again.) 

    a) Fresh New Registration for Round-2 for those candidates who • Have not registered in Round-1 (with full payment of fees). • Have Resigned / Not reported in Round-1 need not register again. • Fresh Choice filling Round-2.

     b) Publication of result of Round-2 on MCC website.

     c) Reporting at the Allotted Medical/Dental College against Round 2 

    END of 15 % All India Counselling and reverting of Non-Joined, Not allotted seats to State quota / Institutional Quota of Central University /Central Institute. MOP –UP ROUND 

    Mop Up Round (Only for Deemed/ Central Universities, ESIC, AIIMS & JIPMER)

      Fresh Registration with payment of registration fee for Mop Up Round for the following  candidates : 

    i. Those who registered in Round-1 & exited availing Free Exit

    ii. Who registered in Round-2 & exited with Forfeiture of fees can register again with payment of fees.

     However, candidates who have already joined and taken admission in Round-2 of AIQ/Deemed/ Central Universities/AIIMS/JIPMER will not be eligible to participate in Mop Up Round. (Those who registered but were not allotted a seat in Round-1 & Round-2 need not register again). 

    • Fresh choice filling of Mop-Up Round
    • Publication of result of Mop-Up Round on MCC website
    • Reporting at the Allotted Medical/ Dental College after Mop-Up Round

    List of Registered Candidates ten times the number of Stray vacancies to be sent to Deemed / Central Universities/AIIMS/JIPMER to be exhausted strictly in order of merit.
