The college is recognized by the Govt. of India and the National Medical Commission (NMC) and is affiliated with Bhupendra Narayan Mandal University, Madhepura, Bihar, a Private University. The college offers 150 seats in MBBS, Postgraduate Courses in 18 departments. s a Muslim Minority Co-Education College helping all the students of the Minority community from Bihar and other states across India to get admission into Medicine. The campus of the college is located in one single plot of about 55 acres nearly 5 kilometers away from Katihar Railway Junction on Katihar-Purnia road. The college library is located in the main building covering an area of about 17500 Sq.ft. It is well-appointed with well-furnished reading rooms besides a large number of latest text and reference books. Further, each department has its own departmental library, equipped with Audio Visual Aids and for up-to-date reference on any subject, the library is connected with a Broadband Internet facility. Katihar Medical College Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Counseling is conducted by Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB)

The medical aspirants seeking MBBS/BDS admission at BIHAR will have to register themselves for the BCECE (UGMAC ) admission process by filling out their application form. Bihar, MBBS/BDS admission is done on the basis of marks secured in NEET. Candidates who will qualify NEET Exam and meet the eligibility requirements can only register and fill the application form of BCECE (UGMAC ), MBBS / BDS admission.

The NEET UG 2024 counseling process will consist of four rounds: Round-1, Round-2, Round-3, and the Stray Vacancy Round. All these counseling rounds will be conducted online. Notably, for Round-3, there will be an opportunity for fresh online registration and submission of application forms for candidates who did not previously register or submit their forms before the first round of counseling. This provision ensures that eligible candidates who missed the initial registration can still participate in the later stages of the counseling process.

1. Qualification:

• 12th or (10+2 Equivalent) with Minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English for UR & 40% for SC/ST/OBC.
• Those who have qualified NEET by scoring the minimum qualifying percentage will be eligible for the Admission and Counseling. Candidates should have earned a minimum of 50 percentile (40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC and 45th percentile for General-PH) in order to become eligible for NEET counseling rounds
• AGE: A student must have completed an age of 17 years at the time of admission under NEET eligibility or should complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course.

Means and includes seats in Government colleges and Government share of seats in Private colleges.

• 85% of Seats in Government colleges (after exclusion of 15 % seats transferred to All India Quota)
• 50% of the available seats for admission by the University for MBBS/ BDS shall be reserved for candidates belonging to: SC – 16%, ST- 1%%, Backward Classes (BC)-12% Reserved Category Girls (RCG)-3%, Extremely Backward Class (EBC)-18%
• 10% of total seats in specified Government Medical / Dental Colleges reserved for economically weaker section ( EWS ) Category

IMPORTANT NOTICE 2024-25

Fee Structure applicable For Session2024-25 For Admission In 1st Professional MBBS Course On The Basis Of NEET (Ug) 2024 And Allotment Made By Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB), Patna Through Ugmac-2024.

• NRI Tuition fee is to be paid either in USD or as per current equivalent amount in Indian currency as per conversion rate applicable on the date of payment.
• The candidates are advised to go through the prospectus available on University / College website on www.alkarimuniversity.edu.in / www.kmckatihar.org regarding fee structure, terms and conditions and other details.
• Tuition fee: Tuition Fee is payable annually and is charged for total 4 ½ years.
• Development fee: Development Fee is payable annually and is charged for total 4 ½ years.
• Hostel fee: Hostel Fee is payable annually and is charged for 5 ½ years or duration of stay whichever is higher. Air-conditioned hostel is available for Boys and Girls separately. Students staying in the hostel for more than the duration of the course either due to failure in examination or extension of Internship or any other reason shall be required to pay additional hostel fee for their additional stay. The extended duration shall be divided in a fraction of 6 or 12 months and accordingly hostel fee shall be payable as per scheduled date every year
• Student Services and Amenities fee: Student Services and Amenities Fee is payable annually and is charged for 5 ½ years or duration of stay whichever is higher. It includes Transport, Sports, Gymnasium, Wi-Fi etc as per policy of the University/College.
• Refundable security deposit: Refundable security depositis payable one time at the time of admission and will be refunded on completion of Internship training after deducting dues/damage if any.
• Bank Guarantee/Bond: At the time of the admission while paying the fees for 1st year through Bank Draft/RTGS/NEFT, the candidate shall also have to furnish Bank Guarantee / Bond for payment of tuition and development fees for the remaining period of the course.
• Fee Concession: Fee concession to eligible students is also available in accordance with clause 36(2) of the Bihar Private Universities Act, 2013. Details can be seen in the prospectusavailable on University / College website on www.alkarimuniversity.edu.in / www.kmckatihar.org.The fee concession will be granted subject to condition that in case the fee of the 50% of the total seats is fixed at par with the fee of the Govt. Medical College of the State, then this concession will not be applicable.
