The Katihar Medical College, Katihar is a Muslim Minority medical college run by  AL-KARIM EDUCATIONAL Trust established in Year 2010. The college is recognized by the Govt. of India and the National Medical Commission (NMC)   and is affiliated with Bhupendra Narayan Mandal University, Madhepura, Bihar, a Private University. The college offers 150 seats in MBBS, Postgraduate Courses in 18 departments. s a Muslim Minority Co-Education College helping all the students of the Minority community from Bihar and other states across India to get admission into Medicine. The campus of the college is located in one single plot of about 55 acres nearly 5 kilometers away from Katihar Railway Junction on Katihar-Purnia road. The college library is located in the main building covering an area of about 17500 Sq.ft. It is well-appointed with well-furnished reading rooms besides a large number of latest text and reference books. Further, each department has its own departmental library, equipped with Audio Visual Aids and for up-to-date reference on any subject, the library is connected with a Broadband Internet facility. Katihar Medical College has a 500 seating capacity fully air-conditioned auditorium in which adjustable stage, recliner, green room, projector room, cafeteria, a rehearsal room for performance, audio-visual system, stall, and lobby are available. This auditorium is home to the seminars, cultural programs, and various other programs run by the college. Katihar Medical College provides the best hostel facilities within the campus for boys and girls and a separate hostel outside Campus 1, situated in Campus2. The College provides all kinds of sports activities and encourages students to take part in games and to ensure their all-round development. All facilities and playgrounds are available for Basket Ball, Volleyball, Foot Ball, Table Tennis, Cricket, Badminton, etc.

 Katihar Medical College Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) Counseling is conducted by Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB)

The medical aspirants seeking MBBS/BDS admission at BIHAR will have to register themselves for the BCECE (UGMAC ) admission process by filling out their application form. Bihar, MBBS/BDS admission is done on the basis of marks secured in NEET. Candidates who will qualify NEET Exam and meet the eligibility requirements can only register and fill the application form of BCECE (UGMAC ), MBBS / BDS  admission. BCECE (UGMAC ) counseling is conducted in Three Round (Round 1, Round 2, and Subsequent MOP UP rounds). Seat selection for Government Seats and for Management quota seats will be through web counseling

Eligibility For Admission : Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB)
1. Qualification:

• 12th or (10+2 Equivalent) with Minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English for UR &  40% for SC/ST/OBC.
• Those who have qualified NEET  by scoring the minimum qualifying percentage will be eligible for the Admission and Counseling. Candidates should have earned a minimum of 50 percentile (40th  percentile for SC/ST/OBC and 45th percentile for General-PH) in order to become eligible for NEET counseling rounds
• AGE: A student must have completed an age of 17 years at the time of admission under NEET eligibility or should complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course.

Means and includes seats in Government colleges and Government share of seats in Private colleges.

• 85% of Seats in Government colleges (after exclusion of 15 % seats transferred to All India Quota)
• 50% of the available seats for admission by the University for MBBS/ BDS shall be reserved for candidates belonging to: SC – 16%, ST- 1%%,  Backward Classes (BC)-12% Reserved Category Girls (RCG)-3%, Extremely Backward Class (EBC)-18%
• 10% of total seats in specified Government Medical / Dental Colleges reserved for economically weaker section ( EWS ) Category
