The Erode Medical College officially Government Erode Medical College was formerly known as IRT Perundurai Medical College was established in the year 1992. It is located off Salem-Kochi National Highway 544 near Perundurai in Erode. The Medical college is affiliated to The Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai and recognized by National Medical Commission (NMC). It has an annual intake of 100 seats in MBBS. In 2019, Government of Tamil Nadu took over the College and named it as Government IRT Perundurai Medical College.
The Medical College and Hospital is located in an huge campus of over 308.5 acres with a very good infrastructure. The College is functioning in a G+3 Storeyed Academic Block, opened in 1993. There are very good spacious Classrooms, Lecture halls & Demonstration rooms. The Institute is fully equipped with clinical Laboratories, Museums and Auditorium. The College also has separate blocks for Animal House, Mortuary and Post-mortem studies. It has Separate Auditorium and Examination Hall Building. Also, an ATM Facility is there in the front entrance of the College. The college has Hostels of two blocks (A & B Block) each for Boys and Girls. It has 24 numbers of Quarters for Junior Medical Officers and 12 Quarters for Senior Medical Officers and 18 Staff Quarters (in 3 Blocks). Apart from this, the College has CRRI-Men's and Women's Hostels. The college has well stocked library which is spread in an area of over 1640sqmt and with an excellent collection of over medical books of over 9767+ and journals & back volumes of over 3159+, Indian and Foreign Journals of over 101+, Atlases, Dictionaries, Directories, Encyclopaedias, Technical Reports. There are separate Reading rooms and the E- library has good Internet facility. The college has pre-clinical, para-clinical and clinical disciplines.

Ramalingam Tuberculosis Sanatorium (RTS) Hospital
The Ramalingam Tuberculosis Sanatorium Hospital is the 200 bedded original facility with which the medical college was initially attached to. It had around 125 General Wards, 50 Special Wards and 5 Deluxe Wards all in 54 separate Tiled-Roof Buildings. And 89 Quarters buildings for the RT Sanatorium Hospital. It houses doctor's quarters in the northern side. It was built-up in a sprawling 308.5 acres lush green campus. This 200-bed facility is again revived to take care of Covid-19 patients in 2021.
GEMC Main Hospital (GEMCH)
It is a 550 Bedded Tertiary-care Hospital functioning in a G+2 Storeyed building, opened in 1994. It is having a 20Kiloliter capacity Cryogenic Oxygen Tank installed to support patients in need of Medical Oxygen. Also, a new building in the name of Rotary Special Block is under construction with 200 Bed Oxygen Support facility as a part of Covid-19 Emergency, sponsored by various Rotary Chapters.

From the total number of MBBS / BDS seats available in the Government Medical / Dental Colleges, 15% of the seats are surrendered to All India Quota and the remaining 85% of seats are allotted to State Quota for the academic year 2021-2022 whereas, in Government Erode Medical College and Hospital, Perundurai, Erode District, the Government has sanctioned an annual intake of 100 students of which 30 seats are earmarked for the wards of employees of the State Transport Corporation and Institute of Road Transport Corporation members who are contributing to the Corpus Fund. -All the entries in the online application form should be filled by the candidate carefully. The candidate should ensure that all information including the marks in the qualifying examination furnished by him/her in the application and the enclosures are correct. a) The candidate and the parents/guardian must ensure his / her eligibility criteria before submitting the online application form. (b) The candidate should fill in the complete postal address with the pin code and with a valid phone number (Mobile) for future correspondence.

Candidate should fill the following particulars in the online application form:
1. (i) Method of payment through Debit Card, Credit Card / Net banking :
(a) Necessary facilities have been provided for making payment through nationalized banks via bank payment portal or by means of Demand Draft drawn in favor of “The Secretary, Selection Committee, Kilpauk, Chennai10” payable at Chennai.
(ii) Candidates must note that mere deduction of fee from the Bank account is not proof of fee payment.
(iii) Check the validity of the Debit / Credit Card / Net banking and keep it ready with you while logging on to the website for submitting the application form. The candidate should enter the information asked for and make payment through a Debit / Credit Card.

The candidates can make payment of Rs.500/- towards the cost of the application fee through the Demand Draft in favor of the Secretary, Selection Committee, Directorate of Medical Education, Chennai-10.
NOTE:
(i) Processing charges will also be paid by the candidate for online payment of fee through Debit / Credit Card / Net Banking along with applicable taxes by the respective Banks. Details of the same are available on the official websites, www.tnhealth.org and www.tnmedicalselection.org.
(ii)The candidates must note that after submission of the online application form, cannot be withdrawn.
Rank List of the candidates shall be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG 2021) for MBBS / BDS Degree Courses for the academic year 2021-2022.
A separate rank list shall be prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET-UG 2021) for MBBS / BDS Degree Courses for the academic year 2021-2022 for the Special Categories as well as the 7.5% seats allocated for the candidates seeking admission under the Tamil Nadu Admission to Undergraduate Courses in Medicine, Dentistry, Indian Medicine and Homeopathy on preferential basis to students of Government Schools Act, 2020 (Tamil Nadu Act No.34 of 2020).

Method Of Selection And Admission:
(i) The admission shall be made on the basis of National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test NEET-UG 2021 score for MBBS / BDS Degree Courses for the year 2021-2022 through Single Window system following the rule of reservation for the State Quota seats in Government Medical / Dental Colleges, Government Quota seats in Self Financing Private Medical / Dental Colleges and ESIC Medical College and PGIMSR, K.K.Nagar, Chennai affiliated to The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University.
(ii) Merely appearing and qualifying in NEET (UG) – 2021 does not confer any right to the candidate for admission to MBBS / BDS Courses. The selection and admission to MBBS / BDS course in any Medical Institution recognised for MBBS / BDS Courses is subject to fulfilling the admission criteria, eligibility, rank in merit list, medical fitness and such other criteria as may be prescribed by the Government of India, respective State Institutions and Medical / Dental Colleges.
(iii)Candidate’s eligibility for MBBS / BDS Courses is purely provisional and is subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria as prescribed by the Government of Tamil Nadu as applicable.
(iv) AR Number (Application Registration Number) will be assigned by the Selection Committee on receipt of the filled-in online application form.
(v) The Government Orders issued and to be issued from time to time pertaining to any of the matters contained in this prospectus should be read as part and parcel of this Prospectus and such terms and conditions in the Government Order are deemed to have been incorporated in this Prospectus.
FIRST PHASE OF COUNSELLING: The counseling schedule will be available on official websites.
SECOND PHASE OF COUNSELLING:
When a candidate is scheduled to attend the second phase of counseling, then the candidate has to pay the processing fee. The candidates who are waitlisted/allotted need not pay the processing fee.he candidates who wish to retain the college taken in first phase of counselling need not participate in second or mop up round counselling.
MOP-UP COUNSELLING:
(a) 15% of the total seats in each Government Medical Colleges and I.R.T Medical College, Perundurai, Erode and ESIC Medical College and PGIMSR, K.K.Nagar, Chennai and Rajah Muthiah Medical and Dental College, Annamalai University, Chidambaram and Tamil Nadu Government Dental College are reserved for All India Quota.
(b) If MBBS / BDS seats earmarked for All India Quota are unfilled by the Director-General of Health Services, New Delhi, then such unfilled seats will be added to the State seats. These unfilled seats will be filled up by the candidates from the rank list.

The Committee on Fixation of Fee in respect of Self-Financing Professional Medical and Dental Colleges fixes the fee including Tuition fee, Admission fee, Special fee, Laboratory, Computer, Internet fee, Library fee, Sports fee, Maintenance and Amenities fee, extracurricular activities fee, and other recurring expenditure In addition to the above fee, the Self-Financing Medical/ Dental Colleges are permitted to collect an amount of Rs.25,000/- per student Development Fee. Detailed information regarding Scholarship, Fee Concession, Hostel Facilities, Transport, Mess charges, etc., can be obtained from the Head of the Institution of the Self-Financing Medical/ Dental College in which the candidate joins. |
