Government Dental College (GDCRI), Ballari), is a Karnataka state government dental college operational along with Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS). The College is affiliated to the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, Karnataka and recognized by Dental Council of India with the annual intake of 63 seats in BDS.
The Dental college is located in the vast area of 173 acres approximately 7 kilometers from Bellary city with a dedicated constructed area of 216830.9 sq.ft and a non-constructed area of 219668.56 sqft with state of the art infrastructure which has set high standards in terms of Dental Education and creates an environment for excellent student oriented, patient friendly environment with dedicated faculty in place. Currently the college is equipped with 108 latest electronic Dental chairs and has set up a well maintained laboratory with all the latest equipment. There are technology driven air conditioned gallery type lecture halls with full audio-visual and multimedia projection capabilities. There are spacious examination hall and seminar halls. The Library is spread in a huge area with good collection of books and National and International Journals with back volumes. There is an excellent E-Library facility as well to benefit the students. State of art preclinical labs equipped with patient simulations and Wi Fi enabled campus. There is a Dental education museum within the campus. The campus houses well ventilated spacious hostels for girls and boys separately with staff quarters. The playground in the sprawling campus is ideal for basketball, football, cricket and volleyball and other games. It is attached with the Medical College and Hospital, Bellary for clinical practice.

The MCC/DGHS will be doing Counseling for 15% AIQ, 100% Deemed Universities, Central Universities (Delhi University, AMU & BHU including Institutional/ Domicile Quota), ESIC, AFMC(only Registration Part) &I.P University (VMMC & SJH AND ABVIMS & RML& ESIC Dental, Delhi (15% AIQ + 85% Institutional Quota ) 100% AIIMS, 100% JIPMER and B.Sc. Nursing (only 08 Central Institutes). The role of MCC of DGHS is limited to allotment of seats to the participating candidates, as per their merit and choice, which starts only after receiving the list/data/Information of successful candidates from National Testing Agency i.e. the NEET (UG) examination conducting body.
There will be four rounds of AIQ counseling i.e. Round 1, Round 2, AIQ Mop-up Rounds and AIQ Stray Vacancy Round (SLA(C) No. 10487 of 2021 before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India). All candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET UG conducted by the NTA will be eligible for participation in the counselling process.
