The Govt. Medical College, Pariyaram, Kannur or Pariyaram Medical College was established in March 1995. It was the first medical college to be established under the co operative sector in India which was previously known as Academy of Medical Sciences. It is affiliated to Kerala University of Health Sciences (KUHS) and recognized by Govt. of India and the National Medical Commission (NMC). It has an annual intake of 100 seats in MBBS, 38 seats in 22 disciplines of Post-Graduate studies and 1 seat in 1 disciplines of super- Specialization studies. It is one of the biggest Super Speciality Medical Institution in India. Pariyaram Medical College is one of the successful ventures in quasi-government sector which aims to bridge this gap. Pariyaram Medical College is a centre of excellence and is the ultimate destiny regarding the health care needs of the people in Malabar region.
The institution is situated in an area of 119 acres in a hilly rural area of Pariyaram. It has very good modern infrastructure with spacious classrooms, 9 modern Lecture halls to accommodate around 200, Examination rooms to accommodate 500 students at a time, Demonstration rooms & Seminar halls for each department. There are state of the art Departmental museums and well-equipped Laboratories. There is a huge Auditorium located deep inside the campus with a seating capacity of 1000. The dissection Hall in ACME is one of the biggest among the medical colleges in Asia and is well equipped to accommodate around 200 students at a time. It is well ventilated and lighted with 20 stainless steel dissection tables and a modern Embalming Lab. There are articulated skeletons, wet specimens, models, charts and facilities to keep full cadavers and wet specimens. There are three Canteens and Recreation halls are amongst the best. There are separate hostel facilities for Boys and Girls and Indoor and Outdoor Games and Sports facilities. The sporting complex is in over 36,000sqmts with facilities for Football, Volleyball, Basketball, Tennis and Cricket at the same time in different venues. An Athletic Track of 8 lines is also available for students. College has separate herbal garden, which has variety of rare plants. The library is one of the best among the medical college in Kerala spread over 3500sqmt and with an excellent collection of medical books of over 11,000+ and 1000+ journals, back volumes, Atlases, Dictionaries, Directories, Encyclopaedias, Technical Reports. There are separate Reading rooms and separate Departmental Libraries and the E- library has good Internet facility. The college has pre-clinical, para-clinical and clinical disciplines.

The teaching Hospital of Pariyaram Medical College is a 1200 bedded hospital complex is supported by more than 20 specialities and eight super speciality departments manned by very competent experienced medical professionals who render their service with a personal touch. The hospital has grown to the stature of a ‘Referral Hospital of North Kerala’ in a short span of its service inline with the vision of its promoters. The medical aspirants seeking MBBS/BDS admission at Kerala will have to register themselves for the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations KEAM in the admission section for the admission process by filling out their application form. Kerala, MBBS/BDS admission is done on the basis of marks secured in NEET. Candidates who will qualify NEET Exam and meet the eligibility requirements can only register and fill the application form for KEAM MBBS / BDS admission. KEAM counseling is conducted in Three Round (Round 1, Round 2, and Subsequent MOP UP rounds). Seat selection for Government Seats and for Management quota seats will be through web counseling

Reservation for All India Quota for MBBS/BDS Courses in Govt. Medical/Dental Colleges: Fifteen percent of the total sanctioned seats in MBBS/BDS Courses in Govt. Medical/Dental Colleges in the State are set apart for the allotment of the candidates by the Director-General of Health Services, Government of India on the basis of the rank obtained in the NEET-UG conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), New Delhi.
Reservation for All India Quota for MBBS Courses in Self-Financing Medical colleges:- Fifteen percent of the seats for the admission of students to MBBS Courses in Self-Financing Medical Colleges in Kerala are set apart for the allotment of candidates irrespective of their Domicile as per the rank obtained in the NEET-UG conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) New Delhi.
Mandatory Reservation The Government seats for each course in Govt./Aided/KAU/KVASU/KUFOS Colleges will be distributed as per the mandatory reservation principle as contemplated in G.O. (P) 208/66/Edn. Dated 2.5.1966, G.O.(Ms)No.95/08/SCSTDD Dated 06.10.2008, GO(Ms) No. 10/2014/BCDD Dated 23.05.2014 and as modified from time to time. The percentage break-up of seats as per mandatory reservation is as follows:

(B) Socially and Educationally Backward Classes (SEBC) - 30%
