Dr. Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences & Hospital was established in April 2006. The College is affiliated to the Punjab University, Chandigarh and recognized by Dental Council of India and Govt of India with the annual intake of 100 seats in BDS and 28 seats in various streams of Postgraduate Dental Sciences.

The Institute aims at providing excellent oral health care facilities to the general public in addition to undergraduate training to students. It has the ability to generate ample research avenues in dental / medical sciences which can have a far reaching impact on not only oral but general health with special thrust on community healthcare and outreach programs for the children and the underserved population. This Institute encompasses a total of 18 departments (9 dental and 9 medical) with 8 clinical and 11 pre-clinical and para-clinical laboratories. Within a short span the Institute has been attending to 250-300 patients everyday in the various specialty clinics. A fully equipped diagnostic lab is functional at the Institute which is carrying out innumerable bio-chemical, histo-pathological and micro-biological tests at the Institute itself. Dental Institute also conducts camps in various schools of Chandigarh and adjoining rural areas.

The college provides very good infrastructure to provide Dental Education to students with dedicated faculty around. Currently the college is equipped with 267 Dental chairs and has well maintained laboratory with all the latest equipment as well. There are spacious classrooms and seminar halls and an auditorium. The campus houses well ventilated spacious hostels for girls and boys separately. It is attached with the Govt. Medical Hospital Sector 32, Chandigarh for clinical practice.

Admission Process

The medical aspirants seeking MBBS/BDS admission at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Chandigarh will have to register themselves for the Dr. Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences & Hospital, Chandigarh admission process by filling out their application form.GMCH, MBBS/BDS admission is done on the basis of marks secured in NEET. There will be two rounds of Chandigarh NEET 2021 counseling and an additional mop-up round will be conducted by the authority if seats remain vacant.

After the release of the provisional GMCH MBBS merit list, the candidates whose names are included in it will have to take part in the document verification session. Candidates will have to furnish all the relevant documents to the authority for verification purposes. After the verification process, the authority will release the final Chandigarh MBBS merit list which includes the candidate's merit rank along with their NEET roll no. Candidates will be called for choice filling and locking of courses and colleges on the basis of their GMCH MBBS merit rank. Eligibility For Admission
1. Qualification:

• 12th or (10+2 Equivalent) with Minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English for UR & 40% for SC/ST/OBC.
• Those who have qualified NEET-UG by scoring the minimum qualifying percentage will be eligible for the Admission and Counseling. Candidates should have earned a minimum of 50 percentile (40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC and 45th percentile for General-PH) in order to become eligible for NEET -UG counseling rounds
• AGE: A student must have completed an age of 17 years at the time of admission under NEET eligibility or should complete the age on or before 31st December of the year of his/her admission to the 1st year MBBS/BDS Course
