The All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Patna was previously known as Jaya Prakash Narayan All India Institute of Medical Sciences (JPNAIIMS). It is one of the best Medical college and medical research public institute located in the city of Patna at Phulwari Sharif and is one of the Institutes of National Importance in India. The institute operates autonomously under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The was College established in the Year 2012 and is affiliated to Statutory Autonomous, AIIMS, located in Bihar with the annual intake of 100 seats in MBBS. The Institute is developing as not only an excellent ‘Centre of Learning’ but is also establishing itself for the delivery of quality healthcare services to people.
It is spread over 134 acres, comprising the main medical college campus on 100 acres and residential campus on 34 acres. The college has state of the art infrastructure with well-designed centrally air-conditioned buildings with wi-fi facility. Medical college comprises various pre-clinical, para-clinical and clinical department. Each department has their own seminar rooms and well equipped teaching and research laboratories. There are four lecture theatres in the college building, all of them are equipped with centralized air conditioning, projectors and many other facilities. It also comprises e-class rooms for conduct of various seminars. A separate Auditorium is developed in the campus. It is well equipped with Departmental museums and Laboratories. Separate Hostel facilities for Boys, Girls and interns within the campus with multiple mess and food courts and wi-fi facility. Recreational facilities have developed over time and now include a world class gymnasium, cricket and football pitches, open playgrounds, badminton courts and indoor games.
AIIMS Patna Hospital is well developed now, catering to approximately 1500 outpatients per day, with each department having its own OPD block area, running 3 major state of the art semi-modular operation theaters, and two minor operation theaters, in all performing more than 250 surgeries per month. It runs round the clock laboratory and has world class radiology with CT, MRI, Biplane DSA, Digital mammography, digital radiography, ultrasound with color doppler facilities. The hospital comprises OPD block, IPD block, Trauma and Emergency block and a separate AYUSH and PMR building having state of art infrastructure. As of 2020, AIIMS Patna has 820 beds, 28 functional modular operating theatres, 12 functional super speciality and 18 functional speciality. AIIMS Patna has a 30,000-kilo litre capacity oxygen tank installed at its premises.
The Hospital's general specialities include General Medicine, General Surgery, OBG, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Radiodiagnosis, ENT, Ophthalmology, Anaesthesiology, Pathology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Forensic Medicine, Physiotherapy. 17 super speciality areas including cardiology, cardiothoracic vascular surgery, neurology, neurosurgery, psychiatry, gastroenterology, nephrology (with dialysis), endocrinology and nuclear medicine have to be set up under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana in AIIMS Patna. The institute also has a telemedicine programme called Chhattisa, a community outreach programme which has conducted more than 100 health camps.
The MCC/DGHS will be doing Counseling for 15% AIQ, 100% Deemed Universities, Central Universities (Delhi University, AMU & BHU including Institutional/ Domicile Quota), 100% ESIC, AFMC (only Registration Part) & I.P University (VMMC & SJH AND ABVIMS & RML & ESIC Dental, Delhi (15% AIQ + 85% Institutional Quota ) 100% AIIMS & 100% JIPMER.There will be four rounds of counseling i.e. Round 1, Round 2 of AIQ and Mop-Up Round & Stray Vacancy Round for 18 AIIMS. Out of the four rounds, three rounds will be conducted online by MCC i.e. Round 1, Round 2, and Mop-Up Round. The Stray Vacancy round shall be conducted by AIIMS for which the list of registered Candidates for the Stray Vacancy, will be forwarded by the MCC to AIIMS. All the candidates who have qualified for All India Quota seats on the basis of their rank in NEET UG conducted by NTA including candidates from the Union Territory of J&K will be eligible.
Reservation Policy: The reservation policy of the Central Government is followed and the same is applied only on the seats contributed by AIIMS to AIQ:

For (15% All India Quota)/ Central Universities (DU, AMU, BHU and Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi)/AFMC & ESI/ All AIIMS/ JIPMER Non Refundable Registration fee:- Rs. 1000/- for UR candidates & Rs. 500/- For SC/ ST/ OBC/ PH candidates.
Refundable security amount:- Rs.10,000/- for UR candidates & Rs. 5,000/- for SC/ST/OBC/PH e.g. any UR candidate opting for Central Universities/ AFMC/ ESI will pay Rs. 1000/-+ Rs. 10,000= Rs. 11,000 at the time of registration.
Any SC/ST/OBC/PH candidate will pay Rs. 500 + Rs.5,000 = Rs. 5,500 at the time of registration.
REGISTRATION & COUNSELING PROCESS
a) Main counseling Registration which will include payment of Non-Refundable Registration fee and Refundable Security Deposit (to be refunded only in the account from which payment has been made).
b) Exercising of Choices and Locking of choices.

e) Reporting at the Allotted Medical/Dental College against 1 Round.
ROUND-2 (Candidates who registered for Round-1 and did not get any seat allotted are not required to register again.)
a) Fresh New Registration for Round-2 for those candidates who • Have not registered in Round-1 (with full payment of fees). • Have Resigned / Not reported in Round-1 need not register again. • Fresh Choice filling Round-2.
b) Publication of result of Round-2 on MCC website.
c) Reporting at the Allotted Medical/Dental College against Round 2
END of 15 % All India Counselling and reverting of Non-Joined, Not allotted seats to State quota / Institutional Quota of Central University /Central Institute. MOP –UP ROUND
Mop Up Round (Only for Deemed/ Central Universities, ESIC, AIIMS & JIPMER)
Fresh Registration with payment of registration fee for Mop Up Round for the following candidates :
i. Those who registered in Round-1 & exited availing Free Exit
ii. Who registered in Round-2 & exited with Forfeiture of fees can register again with payment of fees.
However, candidates who have already joined and taken admission in Round-2 of AIQ/Deemed/ Central Universities/AIIMS/JIPMER will not be eligible to participate in Mop Up Round. (Those who registered but were not allotted a seat in Round-1 & Round-2 need not register again).
List of Registered Candidates ten times the number of Stray vacancies to be sent to Deemed / Central Universities/AIIMS/JIPMER to be exhausted strictly in order of merit.
FINAL STRAY VACANCY ROUND To be conducted by Deemed/ Central Universities/AIIMS/JIPMER (There will be no Fresh Registration of Candidates in Final Stray Vacancy Round)
